I saw this new CFL light reflector setup at my local hydro shop (here in Sacramento) a few days ago and decided to try it out to replace this crappy setup I had in my closet. The manager owed me a favor so I got it at a slight discount. I have been using it for 3 days and I'm really happy with it, I think it's what a lot of people around here are looking for when they ask about CFL reflector setups. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but my old CFL setup cost almost half that and kind of sucked by comparison. I think the guy who made it might give a slight deal too, if you contact him directly.

Thank you for your kind words. I am the inventor of the FLO Bar 2. My website told me you had a link here. Thank you for that too!

I have been using an inferior version of this light for 8 years. I grow anything I want.

All stages of plant life occur slightly faster than normal lights. There is less leaf material, and more fruit/vegetable production. The plants also grow a higher quantity of protective hairs. You can find more about this at Aerogrow.com. I believe they have statistics on this. They use very similar lights.

I chose a standard medium socket so you can just go to your local store to replace bulbs. That way you don't have to locate special bulbs, or send away for them. They just coincidentally have the right spectrum to grow plants.

You can use brighter lights, but don't draw more than 600 watts with that cord. It's rated for 900, but just be safe. The lights it comes with draw 150 watts or less, while giving off 600 watts of light.

This unit uses approximately $2.50 a month in electricity.

For the time being you can buy them directly from me, but once they really get going in the stores I won't be able to keep up. I am only doing this to get things rolling. I will offer a 5% discount to those who go to a grow shop and ask for it first. I need to start demand.

Please visit the site for contact information, or just to see more. I update it as often as I can.

Good luck with you new light. I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks again very much for posting your thread about this!!!!!

I also noticed that I typed "don't draw more than 600 watts". It should say 1,600 watts. The cord can handle 1,690 watts, so I would stop at 1,600. When in doubt read the tag on the cord. I may end up having to use different cords depending on supplies at the stores around here.
