I started listening to the dead 25 years ago.....

Right now I'm listening to 3/31/89.....

Jerry's guitar licks are just soooooo sweet...they never get old.....

Listening to a sweet peggy-o......Beautiful sweet guitar work by jerry that takes you on such a sweet ride.....

Oh ya, jer's lyrics ain't half bad either....got tears about swellin' up in my eyes.....

Still just so sweet after all these years....

Got to love the Grateful Dead channel on siriusXM :-)

You mean, Robert Hunters' Lyrics that Jerry Composed (most) of the Music/Songs to.
ya bro....I know the RH wrote a lot of lyrics for the dead....Obviously, the GD are one of the biggest cover bands of all time....Wasn't really trying to be politically correct here with who wrote what or whatever...

All I am saying is I've been listening to them for 25 years, and it's still like ear candy to me, and in fact it gets better with killer shows that I have not heard yet....

If I had to mention who wrote a song each time I talked about a Grateful Dead song I might has well not even bother...that would be such a pain in the ass.

I think some of the best music from the dead was in the later 80's.
I have boxes of cassettes I recorder or swapped with people but alway love those 80's tunes.

Haha.....ya I had an old library card catalog loaded with tapes....that held 600+...then I also had boxes full on top of that, lol.....I must have been around 700+ tapes....I still have most of them.....in fact I know I have some first gen's non-dead that probably have never even bern listen to, lol

As far as years that I like, I'd say it really varies..,.,

Late 80s was good I agree.....87' had some good bluesy/soulful stuff with Midland....89' was a real good year too...Rich Stadium july 4 was a good show...that should have been my first show but unfortunately it wasn't.....

Any pig is good imo..,..

73/74 some good jazzy/improv type stuff

77 some good jammin

79 I like this year a lot, and Brent's sound.....I think he adapted quicky....

90 is also on of my favorite years I saw more shows that year than any other
