Grape ape grow questions

What I have.

Grape ape that I bought b4 med laws were changed in Washington that are now in flower. And clones we took right before putting the girls into flower. The clones i bought were very spindly and tall. My clones are very short and stalky. I started the clones under 200w light in rock wool and hydro setup. They are now under 600w light in autopots and non woven fabric pots. Reading about grape ape it is a Xmas tree shape strain. And that is what my clones are starting to look like.

My question is. Can I raise the lights and lower the wattage to make them stretch. I would like to super crop etc to make a sea of green with them like I did with there mother's.

You say Christmas tree shape which indicates sativa dominant growth, so stretch is likely inevitable, even with the lights as they are.

Is it HPS, or MH? HPS will also encourage stretch, while MH will help to inhibit it.

The mother's are growing like an indica. I never remember which is which mh/HPs. . It is currently under the white-er of the two (HPs) at 600w 24x7. Nodes are really close together as they are getting much more lights then there mother's did before I got them.

If I lower the wattage and raise the light the new nodes should be longer correct? Giving me plant to super crop. And then scrog

Sounds like a Metal Halide, which will inhibit stretch. So yes, you'll need to raise the light. I dont think I'd bother with wattage if you have the space.

Another way to promote stretch would be higher temps, and a large temperature swing from day to night. You're on 24/0 so that second one won't help, but it's an option. Also, keep stretching first week of flower by keeping the N at or around vegetative levels, rather than transition or straight to flower.
