keep up the great work

I completely understand! So many good seeds, so little time. I've had these on hand for almost 4 months. They finally arrived just when I was starting another strain for breeding. :-) this will be worth the wait!

Starting 3rd week of being outdoors

A lot happened in a short period of time. I looked at my plants on Saturday to show my husband the preflowers. You could see on two plants that they were male, but the balls were still tiny and tucked away. I didn't have a chance to look at them until Monday morning and oh man had they gone off. Three confirmed males, so cut down two of them and kept the strongest one. He's now 40' away from the females, but the females haven't really started going off so I'm not too worried yet. By the looks of these balls, I'll have pollen before I leave in 10 days.

My plant that I kept back in veg is going strong. Doing a little LST with it and attempting to keep it low. SHE popped a hair so I'm sooooo stoked! Lucky me. I got a mother plant! The purple/blue pics are her and well as the closeup of the hair.

I'm happy my plants are doing well and I hope they stay that way! This is only my 6th grow and to be honest all of them end up looking haggard by the time I chop them. I still get nice green and the trichomes are a good enough percentage of being cloudy, but I always have to chop before the leaves start turning yellow close to my buds. This is my first complete grow using a Bluelab PH pen (used a cheap one my last grow with crappy results) so hopefully that will solve my problem? I'm also trying not to have too much runoff when I do water them so they can retain what's already in the soil. Who knows.

What I want to know is when does the purple start showing up! It's like waiting for Christmas!

Starting 4th week of being outdoors

Well, sadly there is not a whole lot of action going on yet and this is my last post for 3 weeks! I cut down my male today and laid some branches out to capture all the pollen I could possibly need. My girls have STILL not begun to flower. Amazing! I'm guessing they have a bit more sativa in them. I've only grown indica dominant, so this is a first for me going into week 4 of flower with nothing but preflowers and a plant bigger than I was expecting. I wasn't planning on this lengthened flowering time, so I'm going to re-pot them in a 5 gallon before I leave.

Attached are some pics of my male and the pollen harvest. I already harvested some pollen a couple days ago from just a few small branches, which you could see the result in the jar. That alone would probably be enough for me to make a couple hundred seeds, but I'm harvesting more, just 'cause :-)

See you in September!

So you did it to make seeds?
Well the males went off early as usual, but the females are taking their sweet time! I've never grown something more sativa dominate so I'm in unchartered waters. When I left yesterday one of my females just started to go off, the other two still nothing but preflowers! So I suspect it will be fine to pollinate in 3 weeks from now when I return. At least I hope :-D

I collected pollen and put it in the freezer - wish me luck!

8th week of being outdoors (12/12)

I got home this week to a bit of a mess, but it's all good! One of my plants got hit hard by spider mites and something else I have yet to look up. I had to choice but to blast them all with some spinosad. They are growing huge though! Shoots! I decided to kick my mother out of my small veg room because at this rate, she won't be done until February!! And I want to start growing something else this winter, so no clones for me, and out she goes.

No color at all in the pistils! But I'm hoping that beautiful GDP purple color will start to develop in the next 3-4 weeks. They still have a long way to go. I wasn't planning on growing sativa, but I'm in it now! I'm suspecting they will be done just in time for the holidays :-D So I guess it's perfect timing ;)
