So here's my problem. I'm about 4 weeks into an approx 8 week flowering period, and I'm not impressed with the level of light penetration i'm getting. I have 7 plants under a 400w HPS and a 105w CFL (like an envirolite). The 'canopy' is pretty jam packed, and though the tops are developing beautifully, the lower branches show very little bud development, presumably because the canopy's preventing light from getting through.
My question is, can I flower for the remaining period, harvest the tops that are ready, then lower the light on the truncated plants to give light to the underdeveloped sites lower down to harvest a few weeks later?
Anyone actually done this?
