Grad Daddy Purple Topping

I am currenlty growing Grand Daddy Purple. I am over 3 weeks into veg since they were rooted. I plan to veg for at least 30 days then flip em. I would like to take cuttings off of them before I Flip Em. Should I top them or should I take a cutting from the bottom. I think that If i top it it will be a much stronger cutting but will it also increase the yield on that plant of this particular strain. Please give your best advice.

i topped my plants a week ago and am gonna prune the lower larger nodes in a couple days ill try to get a pik of how to do so.

you should have your lowest single round leaf, your next 2 sets of 3 leaves then i waited til i had 4 sets of TRUE 5 LEAVES after the 2 3 sets to top it. then a week later you prune(same principle as top) the lowest LARGEST nodes then wait another 2-3 weeks and flower, you'll get 8 monster buds then the rest of the nodes will be your little buds.

If you want to take cuttings, take them from the bottom, that is where the newst growth is, these will root faster and stronger than cuttings taken from near the top of the plant.

Personly, the main reason I would top/Fim my plants is to make better use of the light. From what I have read and seen, you end up with two tops that togeather way about the same as 1 untoped plant.
But, with carfull topping and training, you can get your plant to use the light more efficantly and get better results.
