So I was up very early this morning and I heard something at my door. I got up and looked through the peephole and I didn't see anyone. I open the door and poke my head out and see a guy with a German Shepard running around the corner and another guy posted up on the corner with a beanie on -- kinda odd for 4am
I get a knock 5-10 minutes later and its the two plain clothes detectives I ran off from my front door.
Long story short -- one of the apartment maintenance guys was in my apartment unannounced and tipped them off and I got intimidated and consented to a search.
They ended up taking 9x foot-tall plants, a few lights, some mail, & my food scale from my kitchen. Of course they offered to drop charges if I become an informant.
Detectives were cool and laid back trying to be 'my friend' -- talking about beer, football, smoking pot and whatnot while they search my place. I kept my mouth shut.
Moral of the story:
Apartments are NEVER secure.
Never open the door.
I fail.
