Got some free auto's

I was gifted a lot of seeds from a friend... just having to sort out the males. Seems I get more males than females...these of course were not feminized. This auto growing has been fun! I did get lucky and 2 bad ass plants were female... sour snow... one big cola on these and zero limbs just solid bud from 3 inch's above the ground.
I think I am really going to like these auto's. I also have Blue citris, lowryder #2 and something called pink bud started..threw out 2 males so far.

What the hell kind of autoflowering seed are you supposedly getting that pops males? All pot flowers, male or female, given time. You are sprouting regular seeds and those usually pop female:male at 4:1 and usually no worse than 3:2.

I got some A13 x Mexican Rudy for freebies from mace and I'm pretty sure they aren't female, just the 2 crossed which would give me a 50/50 chance.

Got me. I thought all autos were feminized. I see no point in buying autos myself but I surely wouldn't pay extra. Or even plant them if I thought they were male.

Your mission for seeds seemed like its not turning out so well

Usually they are when they are bought. Some people like them since they don't have to do the 12/12. I'll throw one or two inbetween some fem plants just to try out the smoke. Shit was free. I will say autos have come a long way compared to what it was 10 years ago.

I'm still confused here. I've grown the free autos from SOS and Herbie's. Always female. Always. Poorer quality IMO in cases like the White Widow Auto compared to the real deal but for free and if you have the light? So you are telling me the free ones now have males popping? WTF good are those?

No not always. im going to assume my A13 cross is unstable. Can't find anything on it, or any A13 autos. Could be something I got for free that he is working on and until it gets to where he wants it they may not be feminized. I will agree they aren't as good as say a regular seed that you grow out. And no it depends on the bank, almost all sites only sell feminized autos, why waste the money on a male. But somewhere down the line a long time ago when any of those banks were doing autos, they just crossed a male and female and kept going to they got the cut and then feminized it is all. Just because I crossed something with an auto doesn't automatically make it a female.

Thanks for clearing that up. I nearly always give the autos away due to grow space here. Growing medical for a patient.

Yeah autos are reg unless it states that it's fem. all the autos I've don't so far have been regs. I which I had some fem autos. But from what I can tell they are very unstable.....

Yup, just got to watch for those balls.... auto seeds sure can get spendy.

Hmmm this is interesting.. I never thought all auto seeds were feminized, they have to have male seeds sometimes right? I can see making feminized seed, I guess what my mistake( light leak) caused seeds and I assumed to be feminized. No male or herms in the room and after growing the seeds three times have yet to see a male. I have let a girl flower until she makes seed before and kept the seed and no males yet. Never pollinated a plant yet, that my next step..

Autos AND photos can be male/fem. what makes any strain all female, is a round of breeding with a reversed plant.


Gender has nothing to do with stability or species. The reason some fems might seek unstable is because they were created due to a hermie (light leak possibly, or othe stress such as leaving the plant to grow too long). That is NOT how you want to make fem seeds. That's how you make seeds with both parents being hermies, since the mother and father are the same plant.
