Looking good Big. RMH def has some strong beans.

And Riddle glad you have a few entries. BBxPU sounds sweet. I need some beans to mix with my Querkles! And looking very fine. I love to see new growth the light green and darken as it grows out.

Well hell, now I feel like a party pooper. I have to decline taking in the BB x erkle plant as I simply don't have the plant count to accommodate it. Between my own breeding projects and the 11 outside right now, I'm very tight. I also have beans from several breeders that they sent me as a tester for their genetics and I haven't even popped them, so it wouldn't be fair to them either.

As much as I'd like to be a strain hoarder I simply have to make choices and as Riddleme mentioned, plan my garden and more importantly, then working that plan.

So lets see where we are? Planted on the 2nd, achieved 100% germ on the 8th, up-canned on the 10th, and today we are at 12 days since seed and for this journal purposes we will say they are 6 days old. I always start counting when they all pop. Easier to keep track of.

They have come out of the up-can shock and are starting to take off now.

First up is the Purple Rain! All three seem to be progressing about the same.

View attachment 1098196View attachment 1098201

Next up are the Isis. These seem to be progressing at different speeds even though they all came up on the same day. The one on the right has some heavy indica pheno's going!

And last but not least. My PK X's. These babies are taking off really well. This is the 3rd time starting these beans and they have been a really vigorous grower. Especially under the CMH.

Group shot! Purple Rain, Isis, and the PK's.

Today I started putting them under the CMH for their first 12 hrs and then moving em back to the veg cab at lights out for the last 6.

Let me know what ya think!

Looking good but also looking hungry?
I was thinking the same thing but they only been in that mix for 4 days? They took the up-can pretty hard so I think they may have locked up a bit because they have taken off in the last 24 hrs. My mix should carry them for at least 2 wks and it has in the past? The organic is a 5-0-0 and the perlite is the MG with a little fert too. Gonna watch em and see if they darken up now that they are under the CMH.

Lookin good big, thanks man, I appreciate the journal. I hate this part though, I like from about 2 weeks before flowering to the end. Tom Petty said it, the waiting is the hardest part.

Thanks RMH, They are starting to get going again. Not sure what happened but I am thinking maybe my mix was a little hot? This is my first time with the pellets though. I usually just start them right in the 1 qrt pots but they take longer to pop so I wanted to try the peat pellets, humidity dome, and a heat mat. Definitely a faster germ time and will definitely use the dome again but I am going to find one bigger so I eliminate the peat pellets. Then again I may have been too quick to up can and should have let them go a little longer in the pellet alone.

IDK, I'm a little toasty right now so I am sure I am starting to ramble.

Oh ya, nice ass whipping Oakland put on Dallas.

Nice start Big. And I am sure they are hungry. I didnt realize this is your first time around with them. Peat pellets are great starters, but only have a few days out of the gate. They have very little to offer a young sprout besides a bit of an acidic environment for the sprout too take off in. A pretty short lived attribute. Pretty much only what they are hydrated with. I like Awesome Blossoms and Superthrive and some Liquid Karma for my soak. Potassium and Phosphorous are key components in a seedlings development. And my rule of thumb is. 3-5 days or when the tap shows. That when I put in dixies. Which ever comes first. One watering in and then begin to feed accordingly. Still a dandy start. Just think. You are 3 days ahead of schedule.

And I will update in the morn. We are on the same page Big. Plus we need to talk about the Monday Night Football pregame 'Grow Show' I hope RMH has mentioned it.

All right, this will be short and sweet.

Purple Rains. Back two planted 7/29 and the other three 8/4HPIM2668.jpg

Isis. Planted 8/4HPIM2670.jpg

And finally the Querkles planted 7/22HPIM2671.jpg

So far a few different phenos have showed in the 1st two PRs and Querkles. But as far as I can tell at the moment the Isis are looking pretty much the same.

OK now that makes sense. Did not realize they lacked the needed nutrients. I only soaked them in straight R/O with some Cal/Mag and Pro teKt from Dyna grow. I checked em this morning and you can tell that the roots are hitting the new soil. I watered em in with the same mixture as the soak and will keep an eye on them to see if they need anything more? Since this is only the start of my 6th grow cycle( 5th successful!), I am still a true newbie at this growing game. Riddle,RMH,and Cowboy, I don't ask allot of questions because I am a figure it out myself kinda guy but please feel free to offer up any help. My hope for this thread is to learn to get the maximum return for my time and set-up and who better to learn from than you guy's and have allot of fun along the way.

I am still working this water/fert issue out That I spoke of in Riddles thread awhile back. I received my free water sample kit from the Peters Pro Lab so what I am going to do is send them a 50/50 mix of my tap water and the R/O I use and then wait and see what they recommend for my results? For anybody who wants to try the service from Peters, here is the link. You just need to go to their site and fill out the request form. It appears that it only cost's for the return postage. When they test it, they send an e-mail with the results and recommendations for ferts according to your water supply.

http://petersabc.com/products_2C.php

I Have been playing around with with my new PH pen these last several days and was I way off on where I thought my PH was. My tap water is at 7.8 and according to the cities web site it has a PPM of around 350 and the R/O I buy is at 7.0. When I mix em 50/50 it drops the PH to a 7.4 reading. I was using fish tank PH down but scrapped that and switched to the Apple Cider Vinegar because it is better for the plant's. I am now giving my girls I have in flower a 50/50 of the water mix ph'ed to 6.5 and since they get fed next watering I will be able to see how the nutes affect my water also. When I get the results from peters I will be able to better dial in my fertilizers for my water supply.

Peace

Right on Big, lookin good. The only advice I always have for seedlings is to be careful watering, they can damp off pretty easily, but since you got that down, I think it's smooth sailing brother.

Took a few shots in my garden this morning, hope you guys don't mind my posting some pics, a preview if you will, of your plants to come??? Like I said this is the slowest part so here's some spice for the thread.

Thats what its all about Big. The fine tuning. And trust me, it will never end. There is a tweak too try around every corner.

And wow. My update was snubbed by my piers.

RMH those look to be some tasty treats in the making.
