Got problems!! I think??

So I have a white widow currently at its 4th week in veg planted in a 5gal bucket. Plant is short from pinching top early "limited grow space" but extreamly, extreamly bushy! First question is: Do I remove some larger fan leaves so that the inner plant receives more light? Currently have TWO 105 watt CFLs each light is equivalent to 400 watts. 5k lumens each. 6500k daylight also have SIX 23 watt CFLs 6500k daylight and about 2k lumens each like i said plant is about 12 inches and just so damn bushy lol . Second question is: Being in a 5 gal bucket I didnt expect to see roots growing out of the holes I drilled in the bottom. Do I let is grow as is or is this gonna end up harming her in the long run? Cant really go any bigger than the 5 gal bucket due to space issues. Help Soon would be great as I will be puting her in flowering in two days. would post pics but cam is broke will try asap

i think you should be fine in 5 gal. roots are quick to grow downward, reach and get pruned in the drain holes, it doesn't mean you're root bound. to tell, put your finger in the medium. if you can put it in all the way with no resistance, you're good. if it's so tight you can't stick your finger in, then you are root bound. but i seriously doubt that.

keep your bulbs as close as possible to the plant, and keep the plant as short and flat as possible. I don't believe in cutting fan leaves (esp. not in veg) but many people do. Perhaps just cut the exterior part of them.

I'd just leave her be...Sounds like you got a ton of light though, I'd use the 105watts as top lighting and surround her with those 23 watt cfl's... you'll get some real nice coverage with that.

The roots are good at finding those holes:lol: I push'em back in the pot I don't know if it helps I sure it don't hurt. With you keeping the plant short a 5 gallon is plenty.

Thanks for the input everyone as I am still pretty new at this all info is greatly appreciated. I was able to put my finger down in the medium with no resistance so I think that i'll just let her role with it.. Thank you all and i'lll be trying to get some pictures up ASAP..

Fim??? What is that lol.
Oops! My bad, forgot that you mentioned topping in the OP!

And Fimming is sort of like topping, but instead of pinching off the whole top, you just pinch off a small portion of it...Giving you 4 or more tops if done successfully.

just put the other plant you see on the right side in a few days ago its at 3 weeks veg and its a feminized ipot the white widow is also feminized
