Supra said cxb were printed multiple ways and to match it by the tracing. Or you could check the voltage.
Grouch is correct, CREE has printed the numbers on the COBs several different ways over time.

The traces I am referring to are the tiny gold wires you can see through the surface of the COB. The pattern for the CXA3590 is much different than the CXB3590. Your COBs both match the pattern of the CXB3590 and that is a sure method to visually identify them.

Although you may not have a way to test them, the fact remains that they can easily be tested/verified. Therefore Jerry would not have a leg to stand on if he wanted to lie about it and he knows that.

Cree has only in the last week announced Logo changes that will remove the 3d look and the newer gold look logo is now the new logo. All CREE CXB have a B in front of 3590N, thats the thing to look for

Hey Mark, I noticed this with a recent CXB3590 batch from Mouser, that the gold logo is now the new thing. Any idea on why they might change something such as this?

Bright Regards

we have been a cree disti since 2005, I think at a rough calc the logos have changed around 5 times, I cant really give you all the reasons why because I dont know, other than corporate branding is a world unto its self. I suspect the latest iteration is a modernisation and has simplified the logo and in my view it looks good. Off course it has absolutely no bearing on the product itself, just the icing colour on the cake
