Got guns?

I've been using this target for years for plinking or sighting in my guns. Prints out just right on a sheet of computer paper with 1/2" between circles. I make a holder out of pieces of lathe to hold two of them and use my old telescope to see where I'm hitting at 100yds or whatever. It shows a flipped and upside down image so I keep a blank on on my shooting bench to mark where I've hit then adjust the scope and try again. Cheap like borscht!

That pizza box thing is a great idea and I bet it boosted their sales a bunch.

I use a felt pen to mark the quadrant numbers larger too.

What's the deal with .410 ammo where you guys are at? There seems to be zero anywhere here in Alberta. Not for me but I know a few people who are right pissed they can't get any. Was/is a pretty popular weapon so I find it odd that nobody is making ammo for it. I have a little 16gauge single shot and have minor problems finding ammo in the sizes I want but got a couple boxes #4 shot locally no problem tho they were the last of 3.

Same issue whenever I go looking for 410 ammo. 20g a little better, 12ga no problem. I gave up checking for deals on midway , Natchez, etc

I wonder what's going on with that. There must be millions of 410s out there so you'd think there should be plenty of ammo being made for them too.

There's little if any 16gauge ammo available locally but when I went to the city last week I checked at the two shops I went to and they both had various sizes of those. I've got enough for now so didn't buy any. Neither had any in 8 or 9 shot size or I would have grabbed a couple boxes of those as I plan to get a cheap skeet launcher and a box of skeet to do a little target practise in the back here. I have 2 boxes of #4 and some slugs so good enough for now.

That's a beaut! Real easy to convert to a pistol grip scatter-gun when the zombie apocalypse comes tho I'd prefer a 12g side-by-side for that. :)

All my 16g ammo is 2-3/4. I didn't know they made 2-1/2 for those.

I would never alter this gun in any way

it was a WWII bringback by a friend of my grandfather named Walt Sauer who was in Patton's army- my grandfather traded for it, then gave it to my father who then gave it to me. I've had it for 50 years

A 12 gauge, short barrel shotgun with a pistol grip is a bitch to handle after a couple of shots, even when I was younger and in better shape. :o That's why I went with the 20 gauge pump.

You'll think differently when the zombies are at the door. :D

There's no way I'd chop up a beauty like that either. I remember my grandfather having one similar to that I always wanted to get someday but I'm pretty sure my cousin Jim got that. He brought it from Switzerland when they emigrated to southern Alberta in the early 1920s and settled on two sections of prairie near Cardston. Used to love visiting when I was a kid so me and Jimmy could go hunt gophers in the coulees.

I got my other grandfather's fishing tackle and I'd rather go fishing than shooting any day of the week so it worked out well. I take his old, expensive for the day, fiberglass fly rod out every spring to get a trout on it if I can. Next spring it'll have a nice Hardy reel on it which would have made him happy.

I used to have a 12g pump, Remington Wingmaster, I chopped down as far as I could then cut the stock off and shaped the remainder into a pistol grip. They have a long metal bolt I had to shorten then use a die to thread the end to screw the grip on. I could fire that one-handed like a big hand cannon no problem. Got rid of that over 10 years ago when I had the cops snooping around due to someone I used to call a friend ratting me out for growing pot.

Due to hurting the joint at the base of my thumb I still haven't even test fired that new shotgun or the rifle. Still tender when I put some pressure on the joint so pretty sure shooting is just going to keep it sore. It'll keep 'til spring.
