Hey guys,
Got bored of waiting for all my DIY COB parts to arrive, so went down to Home Depot and bought some CFL lights. Basically here are the parts:

8x 6500k 23W CFL Bulbs (1600 lumens per bulb)
4x Y-Shaped Dual Bulb Holder
4x Bulb to outlet converter
2x Power Strips
1x 15"x2.5" Piece of Wood
And Zipties

Phone ran out of batteries so couldn't post pics. Here's the video where I got my inspiration from (except no hood):

Very basic with no hood currently, looking at a 12"x24" aluminum sheet metal but I was wondering if I would need a hood as my grow tent (2'x2'x4') is already covered in mylar. I know hoods basically let you place your bulbs higher without sacrificing lumen but with a mylar surrounding would I need it?

Also planning on growing at least 2 Bonzai Clone Mothers, and was wondering if these 8 bulbs would be enough for them in my 2'x2'x4' tent. The bulbs will be lined horizontally across the power strip.

I have my Veg COBs coming late November, so I was wondering if I switched the CFLs to my COBs would the plants experience shock from the switch? My goal here is to keep two healthy Bonzai mothers in my veg tent for at least 6-12 months for perpetual growth, would CFLs be able to do this? If they are I might just throw my COBs in the flower tent.

Thanks
