I used to wonder that but with the damned Autoflowers, I learned quick that they are in charge. My biggest plant is a Mephisto grape crush. It sprouted 4/20. It sat in solo cup untouched till 5/9 when I transplanted it. It took off but at almost 60 days, it's only thrown a few pistils that just turn brown. The others I started on 5/9 are already flowering. Also started photos a week or two later which are doing well. The plants are in control I fear. Lol. If it makes it to light cycle change then great. Will be a bushy beast. But I'm ready to just trash it soon as it's crowding the photos. Fkn autos. I want control back! Glad to be running photos again.

The JW is from a seed. It is a gift seed from a friend so I am not sure about the past. The source is solid though, so I'm not doubting the quality. I just hope to do it justice.
The cut that several of us are growing came from seeds that @curious2garden made by reversing the JW cut.

Funny story... Annie sent the seeds and they were crushed by Canada post. I looked at them under the microscope and picked out 10 seeds that didn't appear to be crushed badly and ran them. Out of the ten I only got one to pop. after it grew its first node it self topped. >:( I started some other seeds and let the GG go to see what would happen.

It ended up growing four branches at the first node lol, haven't seen that before or since. Unfortunately it only did that where it self topped and grew normally after that. Would have been handy to be able to top your plant at the first node and get four tops every time.

Next grow I'll be reversing this cut and sharing in this journal. Keep it going forever!

I confess. She helped me too. Annie is a wonderful friend. Mine weren't crushed but the 1st one died on me. I'm going to start a couple more when I get back from the beach. Yes! Keep it going forever!
