yup I read the last 20 or so pages of that 29 page report... pretty interesting stuff.

the big downfall was thefriendlychemist that fucked everything up. hacked into something, got like 4000 peoples names and addresses. then tried getting 500,000 bucks from DPR. he tried hiring a hitman for like 120,000$ grand to take care of friendlycheist in BC. and thats when shit went downhill.

very interesting stuff.

Man I would love to read a well written full length bio on this guy....I know that from a lot of the reports they try to make it seem like he was an "average guy", living with roommates, modest apartment, yada yada yada. I gotta think there is CRAAAZY shit that went down nobody knows about, somebody will spill it eventually? Can't wait for more info to come out..

yea man there's gotta be a documentary about this down the road. Living with roommates, but the article says he made over $80 million? My roommates woulda been playmates... err, playboy bunnies, not sure how to word that.

I admittedly did not look into Silk Road at all before this whole bust happened...of course I hear about it but I was never interested in using it so I kinda always just ignored it. Sort of strange learning all about it now knowing its shut down and the man who created it will never see the light of day again

my friend used silk road a few times but mostly for research chems.

its a sad day to see fi fall but alot more are gonna pop up. Like napster and torrents. the second one falls 3 more pop up.

Bear in mind that they're using cop math to report those numbers. Yes something like 9.5M BTC in sales happened on the SR, but for many of them BTC were worth a few dollars at most. And before the gawker article about SR they were even cheaper. I bet that people paid 1000BTC for a g of MDMA at some point.
I'm expecting a similar fallout to the Farmer's Market. Any big players they can identify will be nabbed and the people buying personal use amounts will be ignored.
