Good Strains for Rosin Tech

I'm in search of a strain that makes top shelf rosin from a hair straightener. A healthy plant that can support its own weight. Has anyone grown herb with these qualities?

To answer the question I think the best return comes from the trim bin kief after you are done harvesting. Any strain with a ton of resin glands should work for the rosin I believe. I am going to try this candyland and my baby (headband pheno from loud seeds) then get back to you on the facts.

GG#4 seems to fit the bill IMO/ IME... getting about 30% off her .
Must be some real tasty goo coming from the gorilla :), any chance you wanna share what hair straightener you use and temp? I am about to start doing it myself as the dudes at the collective are nice and all but they get 50% of whatever they squeeze for me as a "tip" so to say. I wanna do it myself but am making sure I get all the right materials so I don't do it half assed.

i use a cheap remington digi one but i put it in a vice vert style so the rosin runs down to the crease and does not sit on heat . clamp cold then turn on at lowest (310*) i turn it off after a little terpy smell . mostly white waxy from that tech with flowers . kief . well we all know keif can crush it on the returns but th flavor is lacking ...

I have to somewhat disagree with the lack of flavor from Kief rosin. As with all strains ,phenos etc. Yields are different as well as the way they act with thus or that extraction method. Take my 9lb hammer sift is awesome like the flavor of flower amped up like should b. But when pressed to rosin even at the super low temp I do,the flavor is almost totally lost. But with strawberry og press the sift an terps galore so much so it s always sap due to so many volatile terps never goes shatter.taste is unreal. Sorry for long post ,just saying always run your strains thru all extraction methods to find best for it.

Just was thinking ,if different terps have different burn off temperature s .you can isolate paticular terps in a strain an said terps burn off temp (not sure proper term) you could try to modify rosin press temp for the least terps loss . Just a radon thought . Prolly not worth hassle . I dont know .Just ol fashion trial an error is my fav way of testing.

Sleestack was recommended to me for good hash and rosin. I haven't run it yet but plan to this summer.

Good ol' Bubba Kush has pressed well for me on several occasions, and her full terpene profile seems to come along even with a Remington that only gets down to 310 F. Strawberry OG was great as well, but I only had a small tester plant to mess around with, so no much rosin was pressed from her.

I got Ghost Train Haze, true og, chronic x nl, white widow, Durban poison, blue dream haze, and critical 2.0. Out of these I'm looking for rosin, easy cloning and fast finishing, and flavor & high of course

I have attempted to grow sleestak and sleeskunk (sleestack x Skunk #1) and grew about 20 beans of each. All had terrible early flower intersex traits and a few hermies never did find a stable female.

@Resinxtractor my ghost train haze is from Rare Dankness so I'll likely keep it although I haven't had a successful clone from it yet
True og by elemental seeds looks dense too.

Yeah the squish test is my new deal breaker on weather or not to keep a strain around. I have a 2k room dedicated to pheno hunting seed packs so making a decision can be tough sometimes. If they pass on to the 4k production room.

If I squish a nugget and hardley anything come out it gets the axe.

Desnisty does not necessarily mean high oil content.

I ran some alien blues from laplata labs . super dense and full of resin. Makes shit loads of dry sift but yet hardley any return on the squish of dried bud.

I drysift everything using drysift wizard tek then squish wrapped in a tea bag.
