About 4 or 5 hundred sterling- I'm in Ireland the northern bit... Seen a few lights around 100 -150 prob a load of shit at that price, used to hit in around a pound with a 600w hps so looking to see something the same.
Just haven't got a clue what direction to look..

Most of us from EU bought Quantum board kits from Horticultural lighting group in the USA. I used to cover half my 8x4 with 900w of HPS and replaced that side with 2x 260w QB kits. theslipperbandit who you may know from the irish or uk thread bought the HLG600h , haven't seen him in ages though but its a great light.
Either would kick the arse of a 600w hps.

Now we have the option of
https://www.diyleduk.co.uk/hlgquantumboards
which wasn't available when I bought mine.

Long story short that's what you want to be going with, either that or build yourself a strip set up or COB light.

Stay away from multi coloured bullshit lights. White light is where its at.

Thanks m8 something like this...

How many would you need to replace a 600hps area do you think, I'm clueless lol
Assuming your talking a 4x4 or 1.2m2 tent then really your going to want at least 9. @1400mA your coming in about 500w and outperforming the 600hps. You could run 12 @1050mA for a bit more efficiency or even 16 and really smash it, that would come close to a 1000w HPS and still only be 650w at the wall.
It isn't the most cost effective solution though. You need fair size pin heat sink for them cobs which in UK are not as easy to get hold of cheap. So you looking around £50 per cob with the heat sink at the prices listed on Farnell.

I have something similar at 750w range as well as my Quantum boards but my cobs are citizen clu058s. Great light but it weighs a fuck ton and it cost me a fair bit to make importing parts from USA and china.

I assume you have already watched growmau5 's tutorials on cob builds on youtube! if not get them watched.

I do prefer strips or quantums though, bit more efficient, lighter and much more simple to put together :bigjoint:
