So that's what happened to them? I was wondering.Border breaks - Bad. Next time, don't let them see light.
Another reason I hate PF tek, you never are sure you have complete colonization and you have to wait until the mycelium grows sometimes inches in order to get full growth. If you were growing on loose substrate you wouldn't have that problem as you could shake the jars in order to have each particle completely engulfed - I have seen full growth in as little as 4 days (from lc). Don't worry about the size of your jars but about the substrate itself, it is far easier to toss some grain in there than to mix a powder with vermiculite.they didnt colonize completely. the jars ive done turn to be all white mycelia. ive herd that they wil fruit early if there is a contam in the jar since the mycelia cannot colonize over that part. but dont know how correct that is. still only on my first grow. maybe canndo can confirm or correct this. i also heard that if you fruit a jar that isnt fully colonized it can get contamed easier in the fruiting chamber. i would maybe use smaller jars. i use the 4 oz jars. most people use half pint you have the pint. faster colonization.
dunk and roll is when you birth your cake rinse it and submerge it under water for around 24 hours. and then rinse it again and roll it in some verm. then put it in your fruiting chamber.
I don't know if it will fruit early due to contams, could be. If you put ungrown medium in a non-sterile place such as your fruiting chamber, you will get contamination, it doesn't matter what else it is growing. Cook up some rice for instance, cover it with plastic wrap and leave it on your kitchen counter - you will get blue, green, grey and white mold in a few days - that is simply the way of things.they didnt colonize completely. the jars ive done turn to be all white mycelia. ive herd that they wil fruit early if there is a contam in the jar since the mycelia cannot colonize over that part. but dont know how correct that is. still only on my first grow. maybe canndo can confirm or correct this. i also heard that if you fruit a jar that isnt fully colonized it can get contamed easier in the fruiting chamber. i would maybe use smaller jars. i use the 4 oz jars. most people use half pint you have the pint. faster colonization.
