Golden Goat Closet Grow

I was going to wait to grow again until I ordered some seeds.

But...I found a seed in a particularly nice ounce of Golden Goat from The Lodge in Denver.

I germinated it in a paper towel and planted it in a solo cup of 50/50 FFOF and Black Gold organic w/ worm castings.

I'll be transplanting into a 2 gallon pot and then hopefully a 5 gallon pot to finish in if all goes well. It's in a 2'x3' tent under a homemade CFL fixture for early veg, then I have a 600w viparspectra that lights the area well enough from my experience. I am going to build a screen for it and try my hand at a scrog.

Here it is, roughly 10 days after putting the seed in a paper towel. Let's hope she's a she and she grows up nice.

god, do not use viparspectra led! it will destroy your grow! I tried the viparspectra 300w, but it burnt about two months, the junk light is NO help to bloom, DO NOT USE! :cuss:

Mine works well enough to harvest buds that are good enough quality for me. If and when I have problems with it, I'll upgrade. But until then, I'm going to keep growing under it.

Well, getting ready to transplant probably tomorrow evening into a 2 gallon pot. It looks okay do far. Short internodes, which is good news for my small set up.

I hope it ends up being a nice lady goat.

Well I have it transplanted into a 2 gallon pot. I also started LST on it. The plant looks pretty good to me. I'm considering topping it, but I'm not exactly sure when/where. Anyway:

She's looking good and growing out nicely.

I just recently topped my girls just above the 3rd node when she was pushing out the 6th. I didn't do any lst tho.

The lower growth is starting to grow out now after bending it. The plant seems to be fairly bushy naturally. Which is kinda surprising, but good.

I also think I may have done a successful topping job on it.

I wouldn't top it. The secondaries are already all pointing to one side. Just keep it pulled over and letting them grow up.

Well I already topped it up at the main, but I'm not going to top anything else.

I've folded leaves back and not gave a fuck about aesthetics as far as bending around. Just trying to get the best light penetration and encourage bushiness.

What do you suggest out of curiosity?

I twisted the stalk back the other way to kind of wrap it around the pot. I keep tucking fan leaves back every day, sometimes twice. By the time I check on it next, the leaves have all popped back up, but the growth underneath also explodes in that time.

I'm still considering a SCROG, but I really like the results and process of LST for desired result.

Also, I gave it a pretty good blast of fish fertilizer yesterday because some stems are purplish.

So this plant is getting branchy. I'm going to have to research pruning more I think. I'm planning on cutting clones out next week or so, so that'll thin things out a little. But I think my plan of keeping it bushy is working.

I cut 4 clones out of it last Friday and put in my little homemade bubble cloner, keeping my fingers crossed.

Today I transplanted into a 5 gallon smart pot. I mixed up 1:3 Black Gold:FFOF for the transplant soil.

It has a tent mate with the little seedling. It's a Kosher Kush seed from a friend. Hopefully I end up with two nice plants with buds on opposite ends of the spectrum.

I flipped the timer to 12/12 last night on this little lady. I counted 12 tops on it and it's a pretty even canopy, so hopefully it flowers well.

Weekly update, coming alone nicely. It's going to get stinky, it already smells up the joint at lights out. I'll start taking closer pics of bud development next week probably.

Tried lst first time last grow and i didnt go far enough around the pot to get it widely spread as that. Looks like a nice canopy.. nice work. Hows it look from side?

I will post a picture when the lights flip on to show you, but it's branchy as hell.

I figured out that you gotta really spend time, sometimes twice a day during heavy vegetative growth, in order to get the best results. Spreading things out, tucking back leaves to let more light in. Plus tying down secondary branches helps spread it out more. The main stem of this plant only goes about halfway around the pot.
