Golden Arm DIY alternative? Light dep

Golden arm DIY? light dep covering questions

Been doing a dep for 2 seasons now , with the tennis ball tech. ( wrap few tennis balls in plastic wrap it up then use rope to tie it then you have like a pouch. Then can throw rope over and pull)

But that’s a super pain the ass when it’s raining and just gets tiring in general, I have 2 deps at my spot.

They are 10 x 30 pvc.

I want to make a diy golden arm ( )

I can’t justify spending almost 2k for that^. Figure there must be a DIY alternative?

Any ideas

I never done light dep but I'm a big fean for it though. I finally understand how to build a controller for the motors. Manual isn't a option for me so it has taken me forever to get to it. But I been able to refine my ideas and get help along the way. I don't know what you budget is like but Amazon has a kit that I was going to buy but now that I understand how to build it, it'll be cheaper to build one for me.

For my situation and what I have on hand. Im going to build a internal light dep greenhouse.

This is my current greenhouse. Its a ebay 15x7x7. After having it up for 2 years the cover finally wore out during the winter. So I'm going to modify frame by cutting 1' off the lower post that it lol. But lower the frame and buying a new bigger greenhouse 20x10x7 to cover the frame. So the internal frame will hold up the blackout tarp
