Ya want pimp, gangster?!

How about all CXB3590 COB LED bloom with 315W CMH veg, all cooled by a chiller with hot gas recovery handling the dehuey and nighttime heating duties. Looking to make it more efficient than anything else indoors.
How do you run the led in bloom when vert. Do you just hang it vert blasting at it?

Since I run bare bulb, moving the air is the same as moving heat. I draw cool air in the bottom, it rises up past lamp and plants and out the top, or out past plants again.

Cooling the air in that larger space can be done with traditional AC, or in my case I use water cooled air handlers to cool and dehuey the space.
How would you run that setup in a tent that is CLOSED or covered at the top for extraction of heat. I see how yours can work with no extraction because heat can escape easily. ..
4x4 or even 4 x 8...

So I decided to take advantage of the cool weather at the moment and dumped my 400w into flower tent. So have the 1kw and 400 stacked. This means I need to use my 600 for veg ;). I chucked a 600w mh bulb I brought about a year ago, but havnt used it till today.

So far my flower tent is sitting at 27.8c and veg 27.8. :) scary they are the same lol

Wow my clones and the 3 seedlings in the front left corner have taken off under the 600w mh.

Now I'm going to have to kill some as I only need 6. I'll have to clone the seedlings to see if any are female.

With the clones I wish I labeled this lot. Normally I do, just this time I didn't. Reason being is that I would rather keep the super skunk and ditch the wwxbb, the super skunk is much more suited to vert

Hey really cool grow, I just started to read about vert growing very interesting. You guys talked about cool tubes vs non cool tubes with the glass off. You said that it gets better results with out the glass, because the glass filters the UV rays.

I run some LEDs that have T8s on them. I turn the T8s on at the end of the grow last week or so. These are like tanning bulbs supposed to be like the UVs from the Sun. Now when I researched this a bit, I found that you can get near the same results if you remove the glass on a HPS at the end of a grow.

What this does is it causes the plant to stop making bigger buds and start working to protect it's self. So it starts to make more trichomes to protect it's self against the UVs. But doing this will lower your end results. It's not by a big amount, but does push your bud to the next level.

If all of that is true (Just things I read a lot about in my research) wouldn't it lower your end results with removing the glass? I understand it will get more lumens but that would help it grow yeah, but do you think it would hurt the amount you get at the end? I know some are ok with getting lower amounts, I ask just like a wondering thought.

Hey bro. Thanks for stopping by. I'm not expert, but to me it sounds like a load of bs, no offence. :)

I cant see how it would lower your yield. This is the first time I have run a bare bulb in over 12 years. Back then I used a 400w. This 1kw bulb is producing far bigger buds than it ever did in the aircooled hood.

It was a while ago I did all this research on this so I can be off on it. I will try and find the information and post it here for you and have your thoughts if ok. Not trying to hijack your thread :).

No probs. Like I said I'm no expert and would be keen to see

Something to get you started, second post in there. That talks about the 5% increase in thc they saw from it. I will find the yield things later.

Alot more testing is coming out I seen geared towards this. To me it makes sense I don't know. If a plant get hurt it will focus on repairing it's self. If it's growing bud it will focus on growing that bud, thats why we want perfect tempatures and no mishaps Ie something falling on the plant. Because it stops to repair.

So with all that to me it was logical that it may stop producing bud to shield its self from the light. I have used UVBs and I saw mine oozing before. Could of been the strain (Ghost train haze) but it was amazing to see.

I remember reading it wasn't a big drop maybe an ounce or something. But to increase personal smoke it's worth it of course imo. But just something to think about.

Now I am not 10000% sure how a HPS with no glass compares to a stright up T8 (uv rays) light. I know if you remove the glass, you are now introducing uv lights to the grow as it gets filtered through the glass.

Cheers for the info. To be honest, its way to much over thinking for me to even worry about that sort of stuff.
