going into flowering, looking for tips

I've got one female plant now at 6 days flowering, and today was the other plant's 1st day. hopefully female as well.

I am wondering what the pruning and topping is all about. Is it normal to prune and top your plants?

What would happen if i just let them grow the way they are. no pruning or topping, maybe pruning a few shade leaves. or does topping make a big difference in buds?

thanks

i guess what i'll do is ill just leave it the way it is
maybe prune a couple of shade leaves thats it, if they need to be shaved.

leave it all on until your about 4-5 weeks into budding u can lightly trim the fan leaves too get more light to the lower buds...

topping or fimming is your choice but it needs to be done in vegging..your plant is flowering and needs to be focused on that and not recovery

I mostly agree, but those fan leaves are like solar panels for your plant, why deprive it of an energy source? If a leaf is really in the way then tuck it back to allow light through. No reason to get rid of it though (unless it's dead).

I lollipop my plants because it's best for my SOG setup, but since you just have a single plant I'd just leave it (either don't trim anything or trim a little off the bottom). Leave the fan leaves though.

i try not to trim anything during flowering, but i do bend fan leaves out of the way of any bud sites.

yeah once you start flowering its good to prune.

topping in veg is totally possible. Expect a topped plant to fall behind for a few days but it will catch up by flowering. It creates more main stalks, but you can probably only achieve a single top during veg and ti will cause for a shorter bushier plant overall.

yeah ive decided not to do any trimming. i will just bend the leaves back. see how it goes. i had three plants. one was male now ive got two females. but the male was the big plant. i ran out of cash and couldnt transplant in time and the two , which now have turned out to be the girls had a bad stunt there, but they are catching up, they are about a foot going into flowering. how you think it will do at a foot?
