Ok so this weeks road block. I think ive hit ever drama possible with this bloody bag seed but im hoping i dont have to give up just yet.

Changed medium just over a week ago on first transplant and soil was too hot for my seedling. Dealt with nitrogen toxicity which affected some of the earlier growth, think i was overcoming that. Snapped a leaf while spreading her bits to optimise light penetration, rookie mistake can get past that.

Having an all time basic tent setup i dont have optimal temperature controll so while the pot and seedling still fit i had it in the dome because the smaller space was easier to manage oppose to the tent, then last night the wife left the air con on all night ive come home from work to a dripping wet humidity dome, and a dying plant.

Correct me if im wrong, i think i was beyond the nitrogen toxisity because up to last night all my new growth was looking good from 2nd node up. My research shows this to be signs of root rot, more than likely my soil has not dried properly due to the cold air turning my dome into a swimming pool....?!?

Is there any coming back from this can i transfer out to some new potting mix or something or is she done?

Plain water is all she gets generally every 48hrs (due again in 8 or 9)

Will let her go outside the dome and check on it in 12 hrs.

My lights are due to go dark any minute would it be best to leave them on for temperature/drying?

Dome lid is off ive dried amd kept the base of it in the tent as im using it as a drip tray.

Do i interupt my cycle and leave the light on to assist in drying the medium or let it go dark?

No need to change your light cycle to dry it out.
As a couple of members said, leave the dome off.
Domes are for cuttings or clones not seedlings.
What kind of light are you using?
How far have you been keeping the light from the top of the dome?
What are the temps in the tent?

My intake draws from straight feom the houses ambient room which ive kept heated to a steady 23°c, yesterday we had a pearler of a day though and the wife cranked the ac overnight so when i got home the house was freezing.

Looking at your picture. Those lowest leafs thats pretty much dead, i would jus remove them. All in all it should recover if you follow what the other lads in here have said. Keep an eye on the new growth. Its a classic scenario your going thrugh. You are still learning. And bound to make mistakes. More mistakes. It took me a couple grows to get into it. Dont worry, just get a couple more seeds ✌

Got some more seeds germing anyways.

I only purchased my dome for my seedlings but was fighting the urge to remove the plant a short while back, i posted last week about when people would consider their growth to be out of the seedling stage but the response prompted me to leave it in a touch longer to which i think i over stepped.

Didnt change my light cycle just let her go and shes starting to dry pretty well. Will still hold off on the water for now.

Its lookimg a little better already but no chamce of recovering on the bottom leaves, Viking im reluctant to remove them though just theorising and correct me if im wrong but there not dried and brown up to the stem so while the leaves have some green are they still providing some low levels of photosynthisis or is it a risk to the plant leaving them on?

Cheers for the help and patience guys

On another note my tent is 800mm(L) x 800mm(W)x 2m(H) optimally 400w would be ideal for this space but ive got an old 600w mag ballast and habe been offered a new MH globe to suit, would 600w be overkill for the small grow space or would it just be considered to have some "wasted light?"

Temps and extraction wouldnt be an issue i have a 150mm inline fan not being utilised at the moment.

You really cant have enough light so long as you can deal with the heat .......both in the air and direct rays from the light......ie make sure you have your light set above your canopy right and you should be ok although i wont lie im terrible at metric measurement lol

But i had an aircooled 1000w digi ballast

In a 5ftx5ftx5ft box and it did quite well but it was in a basement in a cold climate so that could have helped

Hope it helps :)

Edit to say yes if your bleaching,or burning tips from light or heat you might have a little too much light for your space or are to close lol

And as far as the plants in the pics surviving

They should.. they are pissed but i have done much worse and still brought em back with plain water and time :)

2m is aprox 6ft, plenty of room to raise them up and it wont be getting to a cannopy stage i have about 4-5 weeks before weather will be well enough to transfer outdoors. Then ill get some clones or auto flowers to practice my cultivation in shorter periods indoors.

My inline is over powered for my space it creates a negative vaccum and sucks the tent walls in, plenty of air flow to draw heat but i will refrain from using it until i get another matching to use as an inlet to balance pressure or a fan speed controller.

Sounds good...

You can always increase your intake size to lessen the vac or get a variac controller......if you wanted :)

So you wouldnt need to waste power pumping air in as well is what i was getting at

Was thinking about after i posted and i have a small desk fan that i took the base off amd she fits in the opening beautifully, may swap my inline from exhaust to inlet and desk fan too exhaust up top will be a positive pressure and still exhaust adequitly15390777394291710981750.jpg

It will push any smells out though with a positive stack.

But im way past.my bed time mabey thats not what you meant lol

If smell is no concern a positive stack could be fine
My only.worry with so much airflow is humidty

I think one of the issues is over watering too. My basic water rule is wait till the pot is light when you lift it, and dry at least a couple inches down, then roughly 1 quart of water to gal of pot size.
