The relationship between light(point source/bulb) and distance are defined by the inverse square law. This law affirms that the intensity of light changes in inverse proportion to the square of the distance.I like to keep the HPS as close to them as I can without them being uncomfortably hot, giving them as much light as possible. I only raise the light 2-3inches at a time, ensuring they are getting more than adequate light constantly. I've got some literature that talks about how drastically lumen output decreases with distance. I think the example given was that if there are 100,000 lumens 1ft away from the light, then at 2ft away, there would be like 25,000. It's exponential. Now don't hold me to that yet lol, I gotta get out the books to sharpen my knowledge!
...in a nutshell though, that's why I like the light to stay as close as possible, it GREATLY reduces stretching...
I'm going to have to make a net or something for this Sweet Island, because it's starting to pick up a lil' weight a lean lol...
Thanks for stopping by goten!!Looking really good their my man
