only hurt it if your an idiot. common sense is all it takes..
I was saying the cinnamon solution is safe for plants, so you can spray them and the gnats or any other exoskeletal insect will burn and die from it.. They won't hide in your plants, if you douse the girls with this solution. I had gnats when I first started growing (overwater) and covered the whole room with a solution I made.. Not only did it solve the problem In 48hours but also I put it in a foliar spray and the plants loved it. I honestly don't know why I try to help you....

"Only hurt it if your an idiot" sounds cerebral....

So I've found a very effective quick way that gets rid of them nasty gnats use a blow torch and wait until most of the soil is most, and make sure there isn't any leaves or anything you can burn at the bottom and some plants you can't do this on as you cannot have roots at the very top it has to be at least a inch of soil that you can move with your hands, you only have to do this for about 15-30 seconds you don't need to keep the torch on anything more then a second as you want to keep it moving, after 2-3 times you will get rid of them completely including the larva

I've got a video I made to show you how it works, it is possible to damage your plant if you burn or get the top soil to hot so you have to be very careful.

You don't have to use any chemicals which is a plus of doing this.

on a side note don't overwater wait until the top 2 inchs are dry before you re-water again to prevent them, ill upload the video later
Put an 1-2 inch layer of vermiculite at the top of your containers ....works for this hillbilly

How is blow torching your soil better then sticky traps and correctly watering? You know, if you water properly and use sticky traps, it wil inevitably come to the point that the sticky traps wont even catch anything anymore because its all gone! If you grow outside or in a dirty room then yeah, you cant really completely get rid of them. But in a tent/cab its pretty easy to get rid/prevent gnats permanently without any chemicals. Hell I have had the same yellow sticky traps up for months and i dont have a single bug on them!
