It’s amazing what we can do when we need to do it ;). Me and a buddy turned a 66 dodge Fargo into an amazing camper complete with lime green shag carpet (his choice), even had a secret pot storage compartment lol. The wood stove in the back c/w chimney was totally cool but may have become an issue if we had made it to the prairies ;).

GM closed the plants because those 5 plants were making vehicle types that wern't selling , once again the OP is spewing false facts because He hates the current President , once again trying to shove false facts down peoples throats to further a false agenda . GM said directly that trump's tariffs cost them over a billion dollars and so they had to fire 15,000 people and close down 5 factories because of trump's retarded and unwinnable trade war

Exactly, people don't buy low quality auto's that don't start and get you to work. Look no further than a GM auto to keep you from getting to work. Even Consumer Reports says this about GM cars.

Always their lowest rated bottom tier autos and this is exactly why GM is laying off. Nothing to do with tariffs but as always Trump naturally gets blamed for everything.

GM auto = poor quality. The cars no ones wants to buy in 2018.

In China, General Motors is hot. In November, its 10 joint ventures and two wholly-owned foreign enterprises sold 418,225 new vehicles in China, up 13% from a year ago. It was the best November ever, GM said. SUV sales soared 73%.

As a consumer, you just aren't valued, and they have placed their trust in a country without oil.
 
GM and ford both announced they would thin out their car models last year. They sell mostly trucks and suv’s for a while now.

Smart to use current media to blame the layoffs on.

I've had excellent luck with gm products. Still have my 07 pickup. 65 k miles. My mom had a Cordoba that the trunk rusted through in 4 years though.

GM sells more vehicles in China than the US now.

Soon it will be a Chinese car company with an American division.

Those vehicle types were developed for middle class buyers. They didn't sell because America's middle class is disappearing, thanks to worsening wealth and income inequality. Those who can buy cars can afford luxury models, so that's why Cadillacs and big SUVs continue to sell.

Actually Ttystikk is right on this one! I just bought an electric Toyota over the Christmas that was my Christmas present to myself but I looked at Honda's Nissans and Toyotas and I decided on the Toyota. And I absolutely love the Toyota but while I was in the Toyota dealership the car salesman told me say yes GM is now being produced over in China and will no longer be made in America very shortly

So I would have to say on this one that Ttystick is right soon it will be Chinese car factory with an american division

I would have to disagree with you on this one Ttystikk because it is not just luxury owners that can buy cars right now if you get a good enough deal you can buy a car even if you're pretty poor
