Glass Question

I'm currently in the market for a new piece, and I'm thinking about getting a nice Roor.

The question that I haven't been able to find an answer to is, Why exactly is glass on glass better, and how exactly does it work better?

It's a quality thing. Walk into a high quality glass store and they'll be happy to drop a pipe to the floor just to show how strong the glass is. Nicer pieces usually just fit together better, have less flaws, and I like the clean look of a nice professionally blown piece.
