decided to try out one of my sweet mango freebies from ghs to see what an auto is like
as of now it is germinated but not above soil yet
i placed the seed in soil 2 days ago and accidently watered it out and found it had cracked so i replanted
right now its in a jiffy pot (one of the ones that looks like an ice cube tray sorta)
its getting water that is between 6.5 -7 ph
and its medium is one part sphagnum/peat moss to one part vermiculite.
my lighting will be a 2ft hydrofarm t5 lightfixture + 3 cfls:
(1 ,200w equivalent, 55w 2700k bulb(3860 lumens),,,,
1 ,200w equivalent, 40w 2700k bulb (2650 lumens),,,,
and 1 ,200w equivalent, 42w 6500k bulb (2800 lumens)).
once the plant gets its first set or two of real leaves i plan on watering it with this tea i started bubbling today:
it is roughly a gallon of water + 2 tsps of buffalo compost , 2 tbsp of earth worm castings , a half teaspoon of jamaican bat guano ,
1/2 teaspoon of blood meal
and right before i water i think i will add 5ml of nitrozime marine algae extract(0-4-4)
i m hoping that this wont hurt the seedling since the medium it is in now has no fertilizer or anything in it now and maybe this would give it some food
i will also be using this on my tomatos and lettuce plants because i plan to use it once then use norm water again and start anouther batch of this tea again with a little more nutrients/additives and probly eventually cut out the blood meal and i also have some happy frog steamed bone meal i was thinking of adding in slowly as the plant gets older. hopefully will be able to get a cord so i can upload some pics once thiings get going.
just looking for input on my setup
note: i have 2 small fans i will try setting up as ventilation but right now with the lights on the temps stay between 75-90 and humidity at 42% my tent is like 2x4x5
..my tomatos and lettuce will be in the same tent but they will be lower then my mango because soon i plan on putting it in a 13in x 10in octogon pot i picked up for its life span
