I have 2 different pheno's of GG4..
#1: Is from early in the clone only days. She grows slow and is a Mag pig! She clones rather hard as she takes a long time to root. She does better with cut's taken mid plant (Those and higher cuts may take longer but contain more N to help carry a slow cloning strain make it over the hill.

#2: Is from several years later in the strains history. She came from seed and is a better cloning pheno. Thing is, she don't produce the size of bud or the overall plant size the early one does. She does out produce the early one, yield wise, as she has closer node spacing and more node sites.
Patients find #1 to be superior buzz wise. I feel she is a bit more intense and more trippy then the newer pheno.
So, YES they can be a bit more difficult to clone.
As far as out doors, Our climate here in MI is kinda limiting for it. I find it better to run her long. Yet the from seed clones have been run outdoors with good success. Just don't do any delaying tactic's on her (No sliding the flip by starting a re-veg to increase bud and reduce node spacing, or later topping).
Running her in a greenhouse? Works well - start her early and employ a cpl of weeks of gas-light method lighting to keep her from naturally flipping to bloom. Then let her run out...keep the late season temps warmer then 65 in the building and at night,,,55 is my temp, low limit.
Outdoor GG#4 has more punch if run to her end. Don't early harvest due to temp's.
I have done an "in and out" method. Late boom, move her indoors for more solid night temps, and back out on the deck for the natural daylight..
These are obviously limited size plants that did that.
Good luck, you should be fine clone wise with from seed plants.
This answer was also given to be real deal GG4 sourced. Reboots by other then the original sourced plant. Not likely to be the same.
