Not in Kentucky. We can't even get a hearing in either chamber, but especially our state senate. It's a got damn shame that one man -- like Harry Reid held the US Senate hostage refusing any vote he personally was against -- can wield so much power that nobody else can bring up a vote. Some got damn democracy.

Eyewitness News recently spoke with the committee's chairman, Senator Whitney Westerfield, who said he refuses to hear the bill.

Westerfield told us, in his opinion, the risks of making marijuana more readily available far outweigh the benefits.

The republican state senator calls pot a gateway drug... And unless a major health expert comes forward boasting its benefits... He says it's not something he could support.

The senator sees the legislation only having a chance in the Commonwealth if another committee takes it up.

Western Kentucky lawmakers say they don't see it getting much support this session.

No, that's what he refused to hear a bill on. My God if somebody brought up recreational the old guard here in this state would send the state police to their house. most of the kush I have tried growing in maine melt down before its ready,one I have had luck is bubba kush from green thumb,but it still runs little late for my likeing
