Germination...Told you so thread

First of all I wanna thanks you guys for the information available on this site.

I have a total newbie question.
Please dont tell me Told you so...I bought seed from a local shop. At first sight I knew the seeds werent looking good.

They were small, the color was dark but some were medium green. I paid 50 $ for 5 blueberry seed.

I read that one of the foolproof germination method is to put the seed in a moist papertowel and to cover it with two plates for 2 days. And that's exactly what I did and 2 days later they havent opened at all...:(

Ive also read that some people pre-soaked their seeds in water for 24 hours then put it in soil directly.

My question is, is it worth trying to plant the seed or its too late.

If ur wondering I have a 400 hps lamp.

Regards.

I would keep it in the paper towel for another week or so. some seeds take up to two weeks to pop. If then its still a no go, I would bitch to the shop. If that gets you nowhere, plant em anyways.

my suggestion is to keep them in the moist towel longer. Once I was germinating, 5 out of 6 sprouted in 2 days, 6th one sprouted in 2 weeks (!!)
Some seeds are tiny, like 3mm across, color varies too.

Stick them straight into soil mate and let mother nature take its course. The paper towel method is NOT FOOLPROOF.using paper towels you run the risk of damage to the taproot. No matter how carefull you are. Jiffy plugs are the way to go for future grows. I get 100 percent success with them as opposed to just under 90 percent with paper towels. Seeds cost money mate. Dont want you wasting money on seeds that either wont germ or end up dead cos of damaged root.

When oh when are people gonna realise, there is NO NEED to soak or germ seeds. Paper towels damage seeds. Would never go back to paper towels now. There are a few recent threads about best way to germ your seeds. Have a look at them people, you may learn something.
