Germination Phobia!

Hi everyone. I just got a greenhouse pick and mix pack from attitude. The strains include: White Rhino, Super Silver Haze, Hawaiian Snow, Lemon Skunk, and Big Bang. I also got a free Blue Venom from G13 labs. The problem is, I am scare shitless of germinating these seeds. I have never had good luck with germinating bag seeds. I do everything perfectly as possible and I usually have a very low success rate. Maybe my seeds were just shitty, but I don't know. Has anyone else ever felt like this?

Also, has anyone every germinated in rapid rooter plugs that are made of composted tree bark? I hear they have a higher success rate than rockwool, I just don't know if I should pinch the top closed like rockwool or not.

the best germination results for me have always come from the damp paper towel in a ziplock bag method. several people on this forum have complained about the greenhouse pick and mix packs having poor germination rates, but hopefully yours isn't one of them.

I just got 100% germination rate on my 10 bagseeds. Sounds like your making this way more difficult then it really is. Put the seeds in a paper towel, wet it good, and put it in a ziplock bag with alittle water in the bag to keep it moist. Make sure it doesnt dry out and stays wet, you should have sprouts in 2-8 days. If you dont the seeds r duds

I use a hand bath towel vs. paper towel. That way it holds the moisture enough to where I don't have to rewet it thru seed germ. Use ph. ballanced water. fold hand bath towel 3 or 4 times to have 3 or 4 layers. Use 2 coffee plates for top and bottom. press excess water out by pressing coffee plates together. Basically batting 100% that way and again without rewetting towel. Paper towels to me don't hold enough moisture and may need rewetting potential for issues...good luck

oh, I wait till the seedling is about 1 inch before planting. When planting use small paper cup with holes. Put soil in cup and water. when water is drained use tooth pick to dig 1 and 1/2 inch hole so the plant only needs a 1/2 inch to break ground. After putting seedling in hole cover and water again. Now you know the seedling will not move from the spot you have placed it and in about 2-5 days sprout. That take you thru your problems? Then spray seedling for 3 days couple times a day and keep about 1 foot from small light....

root down. Guy, if your not batting almost 100% you should germ in a towel of some kind...

Ahh, I have only grown bag seed, never been able to get ahold of any good seeds, not where I live, so its not that big a deal to not get 100%. For the most part, however, I would say at least 90% of the seeds I plant sprout.
