Germination of seeds - ready for r/dwc

I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly.

First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Take the little one with squeezers and place it gently, leaving the shell's side in an upside position, between two pebbles, to make it easier for the head to grow and reach for the light....

Just soak your netpot every few hours to keep things moist... The root system will establish itself and you'll see roots in few days...

It's not perfect but way nicer than putting it into soil then clones for dwc

I tried with 3 seeds and they all worked perfectly.

I did used ro water, ph'ed at 5.8-6 and 200 ppm. I guess you could use ph'ed tap water.

I just start them in rapid rooter plugs and then transplant. Prevents any possibility of them falling down in the LECA.

You don't have any issue with the thing being too humid? Each time I tried with that method, as soon as you place it in the dwc, it suffocates because the plug is way too humid, so you have to take it off the roots, which is time consuming and a shock to the plant.

As for falling into clays... Not happening, just have to be careful when you place it

I have never had that issue. and I keep em wet.

I'm thinking about germinating some seeds putting them in rockwell and hanging rockwoll over circulating water ( basically mini dwc but instead of pots using rockwoll ) until healthy roots develope and get big enough then put in dwc 5 gal pot
