Do you have to germinate with feminized seeds or would i be fine with just putting the seed in soil and throwing it under a light?

Erm. Your question begs clarification.

Feminized seeds simply ensure that your end product will be female. Great for first grows. It refers explicitly to gender alone and has nothing to do with the grow process.

Germinating increases your chances that your seed will take hold in the soil and be a healthier plant. You probably want to germinate then put your seeds in some neutral soil while they're just babies and once it's time to veg to move them to some better soil.

That being said, If I were going to drop the extra cash on feminized, I'd take every measure to make sure she comes out of that soil.

Germinate it first (as with regular seeds).

Being a feminized seed has nothing to do with how it will germinate, it still needs the same help as a regular seed would.

Put in the soil, water, and wait. Seeds usually do not require human intervention (or any other intervention). Germinating and then transplanting only increases the stress you plant will have to deal with, being feminised makes no difference in how it will start out life.

Be patient and wait until it breaks the soil, moving seeds with small tap roots can be fatal.
