it should work as long as its kept warm. the warmth really is the key. you are supposed to keep it dark and warm but the warmth is what really helps them break the shell.

Try this some time. things you need party cup, seedling soil, spray bottle. soak your seeds in water for about 12 hours. put soil in cup about 3/4 full maybe a little less. place the seed in the siol just give it a little push into the soil then cover with a few grains of soil. use the spray bottle and get the soil good and damp. place under a light I use tube flour's or a large cfl. Keep the light at the top of the cup untill the seed pops. 1-3 days. then back the light off about 6 inches. this works great and you don't have to mess with the seed after it pops. The seed will grow and strech a bit. as the little plant gets taller you can then add soil to the cup to keep the plant short so it doesn't fall over.

I just did my first seeds the other day soaked em overnight in plain water, planted in starter cube and two day later 7 of the 11 planted are about an inch. ( Also I put them in a humidity dome and under T5 as soon as I planted them). 4 days in and 4 of them have yet to pop but I guess 7 is a good first time effort. Just my two cents. Basic but effective it seems.

put them in a plastic bag sealed in a paper towel, then place them on your cable box. that stay nice and warm. then watch tv and be patient. not to difficult

I've had a few that took 5 or more days to pop. I toss them after a week.
