Germinating Outdoors

Hey all,

What would you estime my germination rate would be if I just planted my seeds directly outdoors? I would keep the water moist until they sprouted?

What about using the paper towel method until I get a sprout and then planting outside?

I don't think it would be practical for me to grow inside and then transplant outdoors so I'm looking for alternatives.

defiently use the paper towel method untill the seeds have cracked and sprouted a little, then plant them in some small cups of soil, make sure its moist by watering it before u plant, push a hole about 2 cm into soil with a pencil, drop ur sprouted seed in, and dust over the hole with a little so it covers it nicely. then i would put it on a window sill or something till they have grown a little before u put em outside...will make ur chances better

I would most defiantly germ your seeds in a paper towel first, as im sure the success rate of them sprouting will be much better. I've done this several times and it hasn't failed yet to sprout so I wouldn't worry to much.

so im planning to grow this summer in minnesota
what are the best kinds of buds that would be likely to grow there?
I was thinking like early girl or purlp power? any thought?

well, It all depends on what you want... If you have invested in some seeds and you have the time, the place, and the motivation to sneak in and out to tend to your ladies, i would def. start them inside in a pot. Then transfer them to your spot outside...

On the other hand if you are just trying to grow some bag seed outdoor, the chances of ending up with some killer sinsemilla is slim. So don't waste your time with starting indoors. just dig holes as you walk and drop a seed every 2-3 ft. you will have to put out a lot of seeds... because they wont all germ. and the ones that do will more than likely Hermie and seed them selves. Out of 100 seeds, you might only end up with 10 females doing it this way. deer love them, so do other animals... But this way you will have a line of plants rather than a patch...
