Germinated seeds in rock wool 130w cfl need help!

Okay so i just planted some germinated seeds in rockwool. had some nice roots crackin out of the seed shell bout half n inch long.

so i soaked the rockwool in water for bout 30 mins they wer soakin, got rid of some of the water in them then put the seeds root down in n cover them a little bit with the rockwool... Hardly coverd, can still kinda see the seed. Been 4 days now and not much progress..

Is that normal? How long till it sprout out n loses the shell?

and how long should i hav my cfl on some one told me more light the better? but others say 18 on 6 off is better..?

cheers :joint::joint::joint:

The seed and root structure need to be totally covered. When the leaves are ready they will find their way up to the top. Make sure that the rockwool always has moisture near the seed and root. You also don't need any light at this time. 18/6 will be good once the leaves come out.

You should really soak the rockwool for 24 hours because the manufactures put a harmful glue in the rockwool. once you soak it for 24 hrs, the glue toxins should be removed. I make sure i do that exspecially for seedlings. -IMO

I have never been a fan of rockwool. It tends to retain too much moisture for seedlings and clones.
Is too much moisture a bad thing? they are looking like they are doing bit better ive got them under the cfl in a tray with a clear plastic lid over it for humidity looks like things r steamin up in there is that good for the plants?
