Germinate seeds mid-june outdoor 45ºN

Hello my fiends who would vote weed for president!

This my friends is my first grow and my 3rd attempt. I bought 10 seeds online and germinated them directly in 0.5 l pots. Buried them 1inch deep and just one made it to see the sun.

Her strain is Caramelo, she is 10 days old but has only 1 inch. The soil is a mix of 1/3 cow manure, 1/3 sand, 1/3 normal soil. The sun is very bright in June at 45ºN, and I think the little Caramelo does not like it because her 2 tiny leaves are closing if I put it in direct sun light.

The second attempt was one week ago, had 10 White Russian seeds and this time I failed again by forgetting the pots in direct sun light in the 4th day. The sun was so bright that it dried the soil to hard and burned the seeds that were 1/3 inch deep in the soil. I moved them to shade, and keep the soil moist maybe some of them will still make it.

The last transport of seed will arrive mid-june. I do not want to fail again. In the mean time I read a couple of threads. These is the info I can give to you my friends in hope that you will help my with your wisdom.

Location: 45ºN , Romania, Danube Delta, 2km from the Black Sea
Average temperatures: June-July-August around 30ºC, September 25-20ºC, October 15-20ºC, November 7-15ºC
Soil Type in Danube Delta: Very fertile lair of soil near Danube River, the rest is sand
Average hours of direct sun light: 2600 per year, the most sunny place in Romania
Seeds: 2x Ak47, 2x Very Strong Indica (don´t know the name), 1x Critical+

I also have access to natural worm casting and old cow manure. No store bought nutrients. No stores of such kind around here.

My questions:

Should I leave the plants in shade for 2-3 weeks before moving them slowly to direct sun light, 2-3 hours first day, 3-4hours second day.. ?

What type of soil should I use for germination or for the first weeks of the plants life, before moving them in the ground ?

How should I prepare the ground where the plants will be placed outdoor once they are 2-3 weeks old?

If it is a must, I will order some store-nutrients, don´t have too much money but I will make a sacrifice for this plant and buy some nutrients. From your experience is it best to feed the plant with nutrients only in the flowering stage?

Any advice is a bless for me. I will soon post pictures of the only plant that made it.

I think it should be fine to geminate in mid June, you just won't have much veg time before they begin to flower. But if you do not germinate them, you won't have the plants at all.

Yes, it's always good to put them into indirect sunlight before putting them into direct sunlight. It may not always be necessary, but it never hurts.

What I do with my soil, is I use a shovel and pitch fork and break up the ground. Remove as much grass as you can. Use the pitchfork to turn the soil over. I will mix in worm castings and manure into the soil as well while breaking it all up and turning it.

You do not need any nutrients if you have fertile soil. You can use worm castings and manure and that will be good enough.

I cannot tell you how many grams you will get. It is like asking how many eggs will hatch.

I forget to ask you dudes if mid-June is late to germinate ?

From the six plants (caramelo, 2 Ak, 2 Strong Indica, Critical+) I would like to harvest atleast 300 grams of dried buds. Is that possible ?

Living here is not expensive at all, chicks are gorgeous strain,a mix of russians and latinas, just imagine.

So the yield will remain mostly unknown.

There was a small Romanian community where I used to live. Most of the younger women were very sexy. I think it was the way they held themselves. They did like to spend a lot of money though...

Anyway, I was you should put the plants in an area where they will get a little shade and a little direct sunlight for a few days.

Yeah they like money a bit to much, but they are specimens who don´t care about money that much, but they are rare.

One more question, how do I make the soil airy? Do I put straws in it or small rocks? The soil is very compact but fertile.

You'll have lots of veg time. I live at the same latitude as OP.
They'll start flowering sometime in september when there's 13 to 12 hours of light. Finish 59-69 days end of October or so.
IMO- germinate may 1st, and plant seedlings June 1st at the latitude we live at.

To make your soil more airy, you must first break it up. Break it into smaller chunks. Then flip it over a few times. You can also add vermiculite to it, but you said you don't want to go to the store. Dried manure would probably do just as well to help make the soil airy. Just mix it all together.
Use a shovel and chop the soil up really well. I don't think you need to add straw or rocks. Just break the soil up and flip it over a few times. You will see it get fluffy.

My girlfriend from Ukraine was the same way. She liked the money. She said she didn't care if I had money or not... but it took a lot of money to keep her entertained, lol. I think she meant she didn't care if I went broke or not, lol.

So I may get the 300 grams I was looking for if I do this correctly. That is less than 2 ounces per plant. Temperatures drop to 10ºC at the end of october, especialy during the night. Hope that wont be a problem.

These are the pictures of Caramelo. She has something like a burn near the end of the leave. I currently keep her at shade during the hottest hours, from 10am to 4pm, maybe I should keep her at shade from 9am to 5pm, the sun is really frying during June and July.
My question for you dudes, is she going to be ok ?
Is it to small for a plant that has 2 and a half weeks ?

Today I germinated 2 AK47 and 2 Sensi Star. Feminised.

All 4 seeds popped. Moved them to pots (1 liter).

Soil for the 4 new chicks is made of: potting soil (65%), black worms casting (10%), cow manure (10%), river sand (15%).

Did not use fertile soil found near river because it retains to much moisture.

Hello my friends, news time.

Caramelo is growing fine, reached it´s 4th set of leaves, has about 3-4 inches. Small plant, maybe because the soil is not very good or because I kept her in the frying Sun to much. Now she gets Sun until about 10am, then shade until 6pm, and Sun again until dark. If I put her in direct sun light between 10am and 6pm, her leaves show signs that she is not yet ready for that. I wonder wen will I be able to keep her in direct Sun light all day long.

The Ak´s and Sensi´s are doing well, first set of leaves is growing, keeping the plants in shade just like the older one, from 10am to 6pm.

My pots are just 1 litre, and I intend to move the plants directly in the grownd when they can take full Sun light all day.

Questions:
Should I move them in bigger pots ?
About what age is Cannabis ready to take Sun light all day ?

Caramelo is at her 7th set of leafs and has about 5 inches. Currently she has 5 blades per leaf. Moved her in 4 gal pot because I intend to keep her in my garden. The soil's made from river sand for drainage (50%), fertile alluviation soil (20%), worm casting (5%) and aged cow manure (25%).
I had to cut the first 3 sets of leafs because of spider mites. Now I spray with some solution (water mixed with a little soap and garlic) and it seams they are backing down. The solution doesn't kill the eggs but as soon as they hatch they will die because of the garlic and soap.

The other 4 girls are doing good, will post pictures of them soon. Peace.

Started Low Stress Training with Caramelo, she is growing slowly, has mostly sativa genetics and it is said that sativa grows slowly in the beginning but after a while they accelerate the growth and surpass the indica.
Caramelo is curently tied at 90º angle thus being parallel with the ground. Pictures will come this week.
The other 4 are doing well. The 2 AK47 have very fat leaves, indica style. The Sensi Star looks 50% indica 50% sativa. They currently are at 5 blades per leaf and love the Sun more then Caramelo who is older then them and should pe able to tolerate more. They will be moved in bigger pots, 3-6 gal, with store bought soil, river sand, fertile river soil, worm casting, cow manure, chicken manure, horse manure, normal sand and crushed egg shells.

The journey continues.

All girls are in 3-5 gal pots, no chemicals, only natural ferts. They all suffer from heat stress and I have to move them to partial shaded areas during between 11 and 5. This is a late grow, hope people will learn something from this thread.

Forget to mention I stopped doing LST on Caramelo. And today I saw pistils, she is beginning to flower I suppose. she is 1 ft. tall and 45 days old.

3 of the plants have small pistils. 45ºN is my location, isn´t it to early to start flowering ? Are the pistils a sign that they are begining the flowering period or are they still in the vegetative stage ? I begin to think that I am talking to myself.

Between 9pm-11pm I put the plants under artificial light, 60w bulb, to keep them vegging and prevent flowering. I intend to do this until beginning or middle of August. I think it´s a good idea.

They can show pistils while still in veg mate. My first and only two plants that I grew both showed pistils during the veg stage. They will properly start to flower when you get 12hrs of light, probably start/mid September? Don't worry, all is fine
