General Organics BioRoot

Haha yeah I bet it is scary. But I have used it along time ago when I got their organic box, but honestly dude I would just make a Willow Branch, Bark, Leaf tea and just mix a good tbls or two with each watering or go heavier if you are cloning and want to start roots, like 1tbls to 1cup of water. Cheap almost free to make and super easy. Just boil for a good while and then strain, or just let sit in water for a few days. But I wanted good aerobic bacteria instead of anaerobic, soi
Boiled for a couple hours. Like fill a big pot and fill up with water and reduce, I got about a full gallon of dark willow goodness, and I just let it sit for another day with an airstone. And then just put in a gallon pickle jar, shaking and opening every other day or so... This does not need to be precise, just shake before you use it and you will be fine. Fuck buying nutrients, they are just doing the work for you and charging you for advertisement.

I was just curious if anyone has used this, and if so how do you like it ?

If anyone doesn't know what it is here's a link to the product.

I was using RapidRoot by GH when I was growing non-organically but the MSDS scared me a bit, and not sure if I want to use it anymore.

Sounds good...au natural, and free....the leaf and bark are from the willow tree too I am assuming ? So basically I could go get a bunch of branches off a willow tree, and go from there ?

I have read that something in the willow trees are good for cloning, and are a root stimuli...

How long can the mixture stay around before you use it ?

thnx, SC

I Am sure you can keep it for like a year. yes sir! free is so much better! yeah thats what i did just mainly filled it up with the shoots/branches&leaves. the bark is tough to get off and i only had a small pocket knife.
but yeah our Fore Fathers and Mothers used it all the time when they made cuttings and graftings and transplants. and science proves now the specific chemicals which aid inthe plants health, and actually it is the main ingredient in aspirin.

Willow's rooting agent is indolebutyric acid (IBA). It does also contain salicin. The ingredient in aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. Aloe also contains high levels of salicylic acid.

Haha for the last two days while I have been driving around I have been looking for a willow tree but haven't found any yet...I know where there are some near me though so it's just a matter of time....I also have this link for application of Salicylic acid.

http://deepgreenpermaculture.com/diy-instructions/home-made-plant-rooting-hormone-willow-water/

It says not to use older growth brown or grey bark, and also not to use green leaves...it says to use newer twigs that are like a year old...

Also, found this site that sells salicylic acid. However, it says that is poorly soluble in water...

I just transplanted a plant into it's final pot about a week ago...went from a 1 gallon to a five gallon....I want the roots to explode...Anyone see any harm in applying the willow tree tea via a soil drench ?
