This was started in soil 4 weeks ago (4 day germination) w/ 2 gro bulbs on for 12 hrs/day. It is about 7 inches tall

Is it a male? It looks like it to me, but I would think it's too early to tell

Thanks

Yikes, how did you miss that one? If you don't see any white hairs after a few weeks of veg, it's probably a male. This would be a good opportunity to do some breeding. Looks like you've got a week or so before that male pops.

Thanks guys.....but.....
This scrawny thing and 2 others are only 4 weeks from seed Planting and only 7 inches tall.

I didn't think they sexually mature that early

I have 3 like this out of 8 planted all at the same time from seeds scrounged of unknown and dubious lineage

you have been going 12/12 from seed tho which means they are flowering and it usually takes a couple weeks of flowering to determine sex so technically you are in week 4 of flowering. and that my friend is definatly a male kill it before it ruins your crop.

If you increase the light on your plants it will shock them for a while while the revegetate. This will take weeks. You are better off just finishing them as they are. Remove the males (you know what they look like now). Chances are the rest of them are females. Have you looked hard for signs of female flowers on the rest of them? Female flowers usually form a little bit later than male parts.

Hahahaaa!

My advice, get rid of it NOW!

Or else any future grows can/will be pollinated by stray pollen floating around throughout your house.

Destroy it outside.

Had it happen to me.. not good.

I believe airborne pollen is only viable for a couple of weeks at most. I've been wrong before.:dunce:

Bag it, though, before you chop it so if those balls blossom from the jostlin' (happens to us all:-P) you won't dust every plant in the room with spooge.

Hahahaaa!

Yeah that happened to me on my first grow attempt and I kept trying to tell myself it was a female after all my work put into it, but then as time went on those ugly ass nuts kept growing and I knew I had to chop it down and try again. If you don't see white pistils it's definitely a male.
