Gavita light layout?

I found this diagram online for a room very similar in size to the one I just finished. So I stopped by local store and ordered 4 gavita de 1k and controller. My room is close to these dimensions but not exact. My room is 8’2 inch by 10’9inch. Also I can’t tell what orientation the lights are in on the diagram. Here is the diagram
And yes I know it has orinetation beside the diagram but it’s still confusing if you look at their layout for two lights they are turn the other way and the boxes on diagram look the same as on the two light set ups and it kinda makes sense for them to be side ways as the overlap covers more distance and my room is longer than wide.
So any math wizzes out there that could help me figure out placement it would be much appreciated.
Also they are the slim line model so can mount higher does anyone move their DE’s up and down on ratchets or do you just put at the ceiling and leave alone.

So for your room dimensions If I'm reading your charts right you should be able to layout lamps on a 4'x5' centers and still achieve max lighting.
Also for me i just hang my DE at one height. Ive never had to raise or lower the lamp. But every case could be different depending on gardener or grow style. Like for instance i just top once after 7 days from rooted clone and veg 21 more days after that and through into 12/12. Others veg longer or veg shorter.

Thanks man would you run them parallel to the long wall or the other direction my understanding was that the overlap from the sides of the light cover more area so I was thinking running them parallel to the short wall. (Couldn’t think of another way to word this)

Those screenshots from your phone show the fixture orientation you’ll want to follow, although you’ll only have 4. Top right corner of each screenshot ;-)

If you look at a commercial DE fixture you’ll understand why the spacing will be closer end to end vs. side to side.

Is the room going to be filled 100%?
Where’s the door? Walk way?
Sliding tables? View attachment 4294525
That’s all still to be determined as I haven’t built tables yet, doing rolling tables and trying to fill every bit of the room I can. Thinking two 3x9.5 foot tables on wheels. Won’t leave me much extra room but I do have a extra 9 sq ft area in a corner kinda like a closet for Rez and pumps and what not.

The door is right in the middle of the long wall. I had also though about 2 4x8 tables one on either side of the door so when you come in the door you walk right into the walk way. Only problem I see with that is it cuts off access to my closet which will hold Rez. Maybe could crawl under the table to get to it tho. Welcome to ideas.

I feel dumb now lol, I saw that and kept thinking they should be turned that way but for some reason when looking at it I thought it was showing to turn them the other way. Thanks for helping me read my own screen shot lol.

I like your 2nd idea .
I’m building a sliding table for that room, I plan on crawling under to get to the other side for maintenance etc , res’ (4) will be under it.
I think you’d get the most out of the room if you made two slider tables 4x8ish ,
You could push them around , to have a space on left side , middle, or right side, just got to crawl. I’ve done worse things .

1000w x 4
AC is missing in the pic,
The pvc pipe wasn’t a problem at that distance, but it has been removed for an update. Waiting on shipping .

For the tables I bought 4x8 garage hanging shelving , I plan on making new “legs” out of HHS and uni struts , this will let me use the legs for trellis n not be in my way crawling under the table.

I had a crazy stoned idea to put a sliding track on the walls and have tables move back and forth on them. Thing is I think it’s a really good idea but I’m a terrible carpenter. Lol. Yeah I don’t mind crawling under the tables and have measured and the low tide trays will fit in there and that keeps me from having to custom build the tables from that plastic roofing which is nice but I worry about leaks, and like I said not the best carpenter, even tho I guess I’m getting better...lol.

Found the garage shelves seems like a good idea, might copy that.

I would not build sliding tables out of wood if I wasn’t good at carpentry, you will b pushing on them, leaning , when the plants are wet they will be heavy .

You could copy my design when I build them , and have someone weld the pieces for you.

Think Costco USA calls them safe rac

1” HSS (square tubing)
3/16 plate for gussets & brackets .

If your looking for custom fit trays , some are measured from OD & ID ,
4x4 OD is 42-44ish ID .

Def interested in copying your tables. I’ve blown most of my budget on lights, ac, electrical. I have been handwatering for a long time now anyways so might have to do one round on the floor, as I still have to buy C02 equipment and maybe another dehuey or even humidifier. But def want tables willmjist have to see how much money is left when all else is done.

It almost never ends .
I would focus on getting good equipment, and going slow, vs buying junk n getting everything at once .

Dehumitifer, Quest 105
I really like my sentenl CO2 controller
I would stay away for CO2 controllers that turn on n off with a photo cell.
Plants don’t want CO2 as soon as the lights turn on.

I’m waiting on the shelves to arrive, no tracking 1-15 business days .
I’ll tag you when I post pics of the setup.

Thanks man yeah I want a quest or anden dehuey and will have by next year but with the Daikin mini split and install and the gavitas and controller I’ll be scraping by when it’s all done. So for now I’ll run the dehuey I got and add another small residential one if needed.

I thought I saw a burner in your pics, I wanted to go with c02 burner but have read all kinda stories where they don’t burn the gas all the way and or put off other gasses. Have you had any problems with yours?

If I had to lug bottles around I wouldn’t run c02 , I haven’t had any problems. If your regulator is right n the ports r right (NG is different then propane) n a good controller you should have any trouble.
I hang out in there all the time an it avg 1300ppm.

I do put my room under positive pressure durning lights out , to maintain fresh air n relive the gas build up from the plants n medium.
I just got a new Daikin 3ton , lasted 24hour n quit (faulty install) killed everything.
It’s working now, been watching it for a week with an empty room.

Added a controller,

Two is enough, but you will be working it harder then a 3 . I like to figure the worse case , 4 lights max output 4600w , 8” fan , 16” wall fans x 3 , the CO2 burner , Dehumitifer makes a lot of heat , pumps, outside summer temp could be 95ish .
I don’t want to have to turn down the lights in a heat wave etc , I wanna run how I wanna run. 3 tons gives me the freedom to do that.

I don’t need a supercharged v8 but it’s nice to have when I want it .

Yeah I run at night anyways so hopefully I won’t have to dim either, but I did buy the controller from gavita that will dim and even shut off the lights if they get too hot. In case the mini would fail when gone. I think I will run bottles instead of a burner I know it will be a pain but I’m super paranoid about a fire and the bottles seem like less of a worry atm.

How do you control odor with positive pressure during lights off I usually run negative pressure when venting?

I run at night too, n I just installed the Gavita controller, wish I had that a month ago.

My burner has a tip over sensor , if it’s not straight up, the valve won’t open n it won’t fire up. I have never had any troubles. Just use common sense when u mount it n hit studs , don’t hang from drywall.

I run an oversized air scrubber , If I run on negative pressure, my flooring will want to lift and the panda on the ceiling will want to pull down . I don’t want to cut another hole for proper venting , so it’s easier to run negative.
