Gavita Help!!!

I just purchased a Gavita E Series. I was under the impression the cord was your normal 3 prong like any other light (120v). But the plugs on both of my Gavitas from different retailers are both the 240v plugs. I'm not sure what to do. Regular adapters run too hot. I need a fix but I'm not an electrician. Anybody have any suggestions?

Contact Jair Gavita himself! I'm sure you can find him on facebook, I have him in my friend list! Where ever you bought it should be able to supply you with a 110V cord if Mr.Gavita can't help

They sell 110v cords? I wouldn't mind buying it. I just don't want to mess anything up or void warranty. Also, I'm not on Facebook but I'll try to get an email.

I just cut what they provided, and stuck on a regular 3 prong.

You can buy a 110v plug from the website, or amazon or eBay. Or just cut it and make it yourself.

You don't need to be an electrician. There's 3 colors, very simple.

If you run at 120vac, wouldn't be a bad idea to set a fan on top of the fins. Gavita ballasts run damned hot on 120vac without a fan....like 140F at the surface. Higher frequency = more heat.
