Gavita Enters the LED Market

Now, if only ApacheTech will follow suit!

Good LORD! I remember when Apachetech was the "Gavita of LED fixtures". But, what have they changed in the last X number of years since their first designs? NOTHING! And, they still charge an arm and a leg for a super-heavy, multi-fan-cooled housing full of outdated single diodes. I wanted one SO badly for the longest time. By the time I could afford one, I didn't want one anymore! LOL!

Anyway...I digress. Carry on!

P.S. I think that new Gavita looks kinda like the Fluence at first glance.
:)

I thought they updated their nichia chips yearly?..... yeah the weight on the at600 was always a con for me.

@Greengenes707 maybe he still keeps in touch?

Oh man what are all the hps guy going to talk shit on now? I'm glad gavita finally started using tech we have been using for years.
It was only a matter of time, that or they wouldnt be staying in business in the future if they didnt adapt indent think.

I wonder how well they're selling these days.

any more info on these gavita leds? they look nice although i imagine they will be stupid expensive.

They look cool, but the lack of data on what they put into it....Bet we could all build better or equivalent at 1/5 the price tag

Should do a challenge build thread to see how cheaply it could be replicated. Alas, I just blew my extra fundage on cookie sheet strip lights, so could not participate, but I'd love to see the carnage!
if you know the number and brand of chips they use... why not? ;)

A quick lookup of those philips advance drivers shows 87-89% efficiency.

Im guessing its atleast a 4000k spectrum and thats part of the reason their umol/watt is so good.

I bet their numbers are before driver losses they probably did a flash test also

i dont think any one here does a proper warm up on their lights when doing sphere testing. Its even more important to do that when using passive cooling.

It seems like those numbers are system level. But who cares, at that price point i dont think its going to put any of the smaller premium leds out of business.

(Looking @ the spd) So it's 5000k & 660nm monos? Someone owes me some $$..... ha ha

Damn @The Dawg you should have "patented" your spec grower!:P well, tbh, positivity beat all of us on that years ago.

Every sphere test I heard of they bring the fixture up to temp before testing. Price point? It has gavita printed on the damn thing, it will sell.
