Just bought a Fatty VS. Had them configure it with 5 1750k, 2 - 3k and 2 4k COBS. I have and have had other LEDS plus CmH 315's and an HPS 600w. I was going for a lighting spectrum that would more closely replicate an HPS. The color temp on this light averages out to around 2500K.Hello! Planning to pick up a new light but can’t decide between the Gavita 1700e or the Timber Redwood VS. Cost is not an issue, just looking for the best of the two! Planning to use it in a 4x4 growing in soil.
Also, could a guy get away with putting a Timber Fatty VS into a 4x4? I understand it’s built for a 5x5 but would that extra light be detrimental? Thanks!
To do due diligence I also purchased and HLG Scorpion Rspec. Both are excellent lights. However, I sent the HLG back. I'm not against QB's or strips. The HLG design initially seemed appealing. However, once I used it I decided it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Unless you have some way to cool your tent I'd say 600 watts is really pushing it in a 4x4.
I will say that the Timber is the best built light that I've ever purchased. Time will tell if it is what I speculated it would be. If you decide to go with Timber I would buy directly from them. Dan in sales is an extremely helpful and pleasant person to speak with. He can help you analyze your situation and help focus on what is appropriate for your growing needs. He did for me and so far I love this light. It's incredibly bright and built like a high performance car.
