Gavita 1700 LED - Best Choice for 4x4 tent?

I see SSHZ is still claiming 7 pounds from 12 18” tall plants
Where’d you get that number from?

6.5lb halved so 3.25lb ish per 12 plants is roughly 4.3 ozs per plant which looks right.

Those buds look chunky and dense with multiple large colas.

It really isn’t an exaggerated claim is it?

3.25# from a 4x4? With little itty bitty plants like his?

lol

Back to your auto tent homie, you’re drunk.

No I'm not and never did.......if you had paid attention, I have 2 sides to that room- both 4 X 4 sq. ft. Each side is under a Gavita 1700e LED. Each side holds 12 plants, and I'm averaging over 4 oz per plant.

The plants end up typically around 24-26 inches, although some have been taller and some shorter. What does matter is how many branches there are, not how tall or short everything is. I know I had you blocked for a reason, same old dick face I see and one of the reasons it was easy to move on from RIU because of smucks like you.

Google "sshz and orange gasm" go thru the thread and find the numerous videos I posted of the entire room. That should keep your piehole closed for a bit.

4 Oz a plant isn’t much is it? Don’t need big plants when you have lots to make up weight.

You must be on the bottle if you thought they were 18’ high in the first place lol

If I can pull over a lb with 4 autos in 80 days in a 4x4 using a 600wMH then 3x that much with 3x many more plants is feasible!

It’s amusing watching you squirm every time he mentions his yield like it’s completely ridiculous.

You calling bullshit is funny at times but when it’s about a non exaggerated claims it makes you look like a bit of a fud…

I’ve just set one of these lights up so will see what it’s capable of. In a 4x4 there’s literally an inch or so room either side. Insane light coverage.

All PPFD charts can be manipulated by raising and lowering the light......often it's not apples to apples, and more like apples to pears. I'm now on my 5th gavita grow, and although I've had other manufacturers send me LED's to compare, I still favor the gavita's.

Medic Grow has a nice "Fold 8" LED for $589 which is considered a Best Buy in most circles. They gave me one, I like it a lot. But it's not a Gavita (which cost me $1200), but it's damn close. LOL

By the way, I've averaged over 50 oz per light my first 4 grows with them.
I'm loving my fold 8! Running at 80% I can't imagine needing more light in a 4x4. I'm not sure how much you've played with yours but did you ever settle on a sweet spot, distance wise?

Each one of those plants in the pic is easily 2oz and he's got 12. I'll call out bullshit when ever I see it but SSHZ is clearly pulling the numbers he claims.

The buds look really nice and extremely chunky no debating that from the pics IMO.
And I agree with you it looks like 2oz a plant. Which would be 24oz per ;4x4. I could buy that. 3lbs from the same space is significantly more impressive. For example some people confuse lbs/light for lbs/4x4. I could see 3lbs coming out of a 5x5 lit by enough light. But that's not the same as lighting a 4x4 space only and pulling 3 lbs.

Yup I’ll agree all day with 48 zips from a 4x8

But the dude claims he pulls 104 zips consistently from a 4x8. Absolute horse shit

You guys can argue it back and forth all you want. I have 4 detailed grows over at the Farm, all grown the exact same way. The only thing that changes each time is the strain, and nothing else. As I've told others, I have nothing to prove at this point. I just keep doing the same thing over and over.

In flowering I place the LED's at 20 inches above the tallest plant, and I place the tallest plant on the perimeter of the room. In veg, I start at around 40 inches, and just let the plants slowly grow towards the LED's without adjusting it. Everyone runs theirs at different heights, some closer, and some farther away. I'm in my 5th grow with the Gavita's, I think I have it down pat at this point.

The Medic Grow Fold 8 I won in a contest. When I got it, I took it out of the box and turn it on for a few hours and tested the PPFD with a meter. Their photon claims seem to be spot on. Other than these having fewer diodes that the Gavita, and having a dimmer which I really like- the LED's are probably pretty comparable. In 2 years my opinion might change though. I bought the Gavita's because of the quality of the rest of their products. I figured that would carry over to their LED's, and it does.

Lastly, people have asked me how many branches each plant carries. I normally get around 18 branches per plant. It may not look it, but I've detailed it on some of my earlier grows- actually taking pictures and numbering each branch. I've shown lots of pics at the pot level which shows the lolipopping- look for those and count the branches.

"Been eyeballin this Medicgrow Spectrum x rig …. planning a new 5x5 ( kids finally taking a hike )"..............people that I've seen who own these really like them. The "Y" fixture is a slave to the "X". Meaning you need the X, and can buy additional Y's but all are controlled by the X. A very nice LED too.

long time member, new account.

I was set on buying a Luxx 645w but realized it’s 49” wide, likewise it looks like the Sun Systems is about an 1” wider than I would want.

I know theGavita will fit, any other suggestions?
To answer the OP and avoid the drama lol, the Gavita 1700 is a damn good choice. Eyeing one myself. Also looking at Growers Choice, and that sexy new Scorpion Diablo from HLG too

2oz a plant?

Fuck me, people need new glasses or something.

Aeroknow is claiming 2.64lb per 4x4 few posts back yet no one bats an eyelid.

@SSHZ Next time weight 1 plant by itself wet. Then dry.

Would stop a lot of people doubting what you did. Or being jealous of what you did lol

Honestly, believe what you want. But if you guys aren't getting at least 3 lbs. final yield in a 4 x 4 area, then you need to figure out what you're doing wrong. I used to only get around 68 oz on average under 2 1000 watt HPS, but under these LEDs- it's over 100 oz.

Just got one. I called to speak to one of the techs about a few things and he was quite vague about the "new" Diablo chips. Only that they were new from Samsung..............nothing else. I'll run it next week and see what it's like.

The only downside is the cost. But I make my $$ back after the first grow. So who the fuck cares about the cost if it works well and gets here in a few days. I went from 16 oz avg under a 660 watt hps to 24 oz avg under a 600 watt LED.

3 pounds in my 4 x 4? No way. I'm too noob :eyesmoke:

I don’t grow for weight as it’s only personal and a small hobby of mine. Stops me buying it off the street too so weight isn’t my goal.

Plus I’d probably go to jail with that many plants lol

What I have noticed is that the rate of growth is really impressive even as seedlings. Can’t wait to see how they fair once they properly get established.

You ran 2 1,000 watt HPS in a 4x4? Or are you talking about a 4x8?

@Aeroknow actually grows real plants, not 18” tall ones.

My colas alone are taller than SSBS whole plants, he’s so full of shit I bet his eyes are even brown too.
