480 vs 645 watts.... yeah id say thats a huge difference. You would want 2 HLG 650's for a 5x10. How different the gavita1700 and hlg 650 are i dont know. The gavita is a lot bigger physically (44x44 vs 29x22) so you will likely get a much nicer light spread from the gavita.

Gavita will blow the HLG 550 out of the water. Its more light and way better light coverage....but more $$$$.

HLG 650r vs Gavita 1700e would be a close battle. I think the 650r puts out a bit more light while using less wattage. Id still pick Gavita over it though because of the equal spread.

Yeah ive seen some beautiful canopies under the Gavita. One of the biggest battles in growing is even light spread and considering that light will barely even fit in a 4x4 i think theyve got that figured out.

Ya its almost a perfect light in my eyes at this point in time.

I have only 2 problems with the Gavita. One is the insane price....thats why I'm looking for some knockoff Alibaba Meijiu 650w lights.

2nd is the spectrum has an insane amount of blue. Which I dont think is best for flowering only room situation.

I know some guys running the gavita LEDs they are awesome. There are a lot of strip fixtures on the market like the gavita that I would consider before any hlg lights.

If you offered me two lights for free id spit the hlg back in your face easily. If i had to pay the hlg.

Check out my grow over at thcfarmer, I have 2 new Gavitas growing out Irie Seeds Orange Gasm. Today is 1 month in veg, and I love them. Pricey at $2800 for the two of them, and they put off more heat than I expected, but wonderful so far.

Too add, the blue in flowering helps keep the plants shorter and increases resin production in the end. It’s a perfect spectrum for an entire grow......if you go thru my thread, you’ll see many pics of incredible grows.

Still haven't got a light yet. Gavita is out of stock for a couple more weeks. Found FGI uniformity pro 640. Anyone heard of these or used them? It looks some what comparable to the Gavita 1700.

Dont get sidetracked. Stick with the Gavita.
Im going to agree with this statement. If/when I upgrade, it will be to that light or whatever the next version of it is..... Shops around me are charging 25$ a gram for mediocre product so its easy for me to justify expensive equipment.
