No O great Obi Wan Med Man, opposer of domestic oil exploration ... they are your friends ... you sleep with them.

You are insane. I sleep with my wife, I have no connection to any oil or anti-oil groups. I am anti-drilling if it will be an ecological disaster, lord knows we've had enough of those. How many wildlife have we killed with crude oil and all the toxins associated with oil production? How many humans?

one of the things these drill drill drill folks don't like talking about is, the oil and gas that comes out of the US gets sold to the highest bidder. and thats usually china or india.

Yes, but even the highest bidder will only buy so much.

And actually most of our oil stays here.

Highest bidder? Gee, sounds like just about every business works on this principle.... :o.

I'm glad to hear Med man is for domestic oil drilling. I see a light on in there .....

Of course the highest probability of environmental oil disasters occur with the tankers. Increased imports mean more tankers..... some greenies crack me up... no logic but with real feeling..... nice.

I do think about others. That's why I follow sound and logical policies.... like helping the planets environment by drilling domestically.

I'm sure the Russians are keeping the arctic in tip top environmental shape right?

They have an excellent environmental track record and a VERY responsive Govt., er, right?

Even let's say beyond the pale of statistical averages that they did (oops) spill all over the arctic, who would punish them? Hmmm? U.N.? Uh huh...

Yes, let's leave our energy security to Russia, Venezuela, OPEC.

Trivia question for 10 points : How many times will Russia turn off Europe's Gas Pipeline this winter?

Stay tuned, it's so exciting gambling everything....

Trivia question for 20 points: Who the fuck cares what Russia is doing? We are better than Russia aren't we?

Trivia question for 50 points: Why does the U.S. continue to ignore all the warning signs?

The 9/11 equivalent is coming. But this time it's not terrorists, its the environment.

How's the snow in Vegas? And whats left of New Orleans?

America's "top scientists" (laughs loudly) have dubbed the results of our foul play with the term "global warming". But that was simply another ploy for people to not worry. Keep guzzling up that dirty Oil.
You will pay.

BTW, the PROPER term is "climate shift". But biased American media casts have decided to call it "Global Warming" for some reason.

Just goes to show how fucked people like this "CrackerJax" is.

BTW. Hi crackerjax. So far your nick name is very suiting for your personality. Just a lowly cracker jack. Laugh out Loud. My name is Chuck. Nice to meet you. I can be your new worst enemy;-):finger:

where I am the gas is going up.... :( it was like 1.48 now its like 1.66
That's because gas jumped a little on OPEC production cuts.

Though for the first time I've seen since I've been watching WTI (Texas Sweet Light Crude) is lower in price than Brent (North Sea Sour Heavy Crude.)

Of course, both of them are still hovering in the $40 - $50 range.

Wholesale Gasoline is under $1 (88¢ yesterday's close, I believe) but that doesn't include all the taxes government adds on to it.

Right now taxes account for 30 - 40% of the cost of a gallon at the pump.

Be nice if government's taxes would decrease with gas prices.

Well, outside of Illinois where the politicians decided that high oil prices were the norm, and that the market wouldn't fluctuate wildly.

So they made their budget around percentages of $80/barrel instead of a more realistic $35 - $60.

There's a bright side to low oil beyond the pump price.

It shows costly alternative fuel schemes to be just that .. costly.

It bleeds the strength from Russia and Chavez who run such inefficient operations that profit is only truly satisfactory when oil is 70$ or above.

Of course that $70 dollar price is now being devalued so it will move appropriately.

Oh my mistake, I guess you've reached puberty. It's just that your posts are riddled with right wing propaganda like someone has been tutoring you, like maybe your mentor ViRedd. I just can't believe that someone could be so self centered, BTW, Merry Christmas anyway, Peace.

I don't know what you are talking about. I'm no right winger, however I do adhere to proven and sound economic policies. My adherence to economics is not pinned to politics. This is why you don't get it. Med man, you are trapped by an ever changing political environment which drags your issues to and fro. I am not. I exist outside the political plane and use my foundational knowledge of economics to mill "actual" data and arrive at a non-biased solution. When I see a discrepancy or a political lie, I will point it out. Everything I post is factually correct, as always. All opinions are based on "real" data and not what "someone said".

So yes it must be frustrating as hell to read my posts if you are trapped in a liberal ideology discussing present day economics. If you were to bring up SOCIAL issues you would be VERY surprised at my stances...... but not on economics.

I believe that social issues can be addressed in the best way by using the free and open market system. Anything else is less efficient and will taint, slow, or stop all further desirable results.

I believe that Capitalism best addresses and takes into consideration the nature of man's greed and risk taking behaviors for rewards. No other system harnesses these behaviors with the correct counter weights and balances. This is historically obvious. At least to those not blinded by partisan politics.......

I ride no political merry go round. I am in the center watching you spin.....
