How much direct light do your plants get in a day? Looks like they may have southern exposure in a field.
I was also looking at that. Is there a road in the center? Was it for afternoon sun?
I also have one clone, vigor isn't even close to the seeds. Considering a second clone in that pot cuz it feeling like wasted root space.
Some times they catch up but i have never had a plant put out weight like seeds. People will debate about the out put of clones, i beg to differ. Some conditions, same treatment? I think the seed takes it.
Not to go off on a tangent, when you grow from a seed you are still allowing the seed the go through a natural selection process.
When i pick a seed i look for a number of qualities that I think it my have. Size, shape, color, and texture are all things i use to determine if the seed is viable. Then i germinate and plant. From there, the plant is on its own for at least a month. I lose seedlings, often as much as half, usually to heat stress or some other defect that was not recognized before germination. You may get males, big deal. Be an adult and either toss it or isolate it and do your own pollination. How many seeds did you germinate? Were you prepared?
A clone is trimmed from the best plant and then nurtured along until it can be rooted.
Best plant is very subjective. Everyone sees good and bad qualities different. This subjectiveness can be seen especially in the case of a grower that may be only indoor, basement in the inner city, compared to out in the woods, on the side of a hill.
Yes you take care of all plants but, a seed goes through a process that is part of its genetic make-up not decision made by a gardener.
Sometime you get bunk-assed clones.. from the
club. I am telling you, it happens.
I have yet to have a seed not produce, in quality and quantity.
Plus a seed is viable, left alone in a closet for like three years. No work needed.
