So I want to continue growing with coco. I want to try out gaia green dry amendments.

So theoretically, I would mix in the proper amount of gaia green with my 50L bag of coco. then I would fill the pots etc. and top dress once every 3-4wks from then on right? Can you even use GG with coco?

Thanks fellas
I use pro mix with roots organic terp tea grow and bloom. Grow NPK is 7-1-1, Bloom is 3-7-4. Not exactly 4-4-4 like GG, but same concept in terms of use. Only difference is I top dress weekly instead of monthly. I use kelp, guano and molasses during flower but that’s about it. I know coco is different compared to regular soil so I can’t comment on its use or success rate with with dry amendments.

Coco works fine but not by itself have to add in microbes to activate the medium no army no food

I just finished a run with coco and experimented on a few plants with GG alfalfa meal, kelp meal and the 4-4-4. also used seabird guano. I was feeding House n Garden A+B only the entire grow regardless. The plant with the 4-4-4 was super dark green and healthy. The plant with the kelp meal got fried even at half strength but survived. The conclusion is alfalfa meal didnt change anything but the kelp and the guano wins in term of taste but it was so subtle that Im done with synthetics. Going back to my roots..BOGs organic pure blend. then i'll be experimenting with amendements again to see if it makes a difference but always staying in coco for speed.

check out mr canuk in YouTube
I know this is an old thread, but, Mr. Canuck is a film maker and not a grower. You must also remember he is being paid to use Gaia Green, if Plant Magic started throwing more money than Gaia Green at him that would suddenly be his go to sauce. He also uses things like EWC in his mix, which isn't the same as just using straight coco. Also being a filmmaker you have no idea if what he did actually worked like he says it did. If in his videos he suddenly ran into various different issues, would he document them? If he did document his issues would everyone still be so keen to use Gaia Green? Would Gaia Green still want to pay him?

The guy makes a good looking video, but he employs methods that would be laughed at on these forums. The bottom line is that Youtube is there for entertainment purposes only.

You forgot to mention he grows nasty plants.

I also don't understand what's so great about his video editing skills? They suck. I worked as a Multimedia Designer for a couple years and made instructional videos while working at a fortune 500 company. I would have been fired if I produced the crappy videos he does.

Sorry, by good looking I meant Bud eye candy. Personally I think he is a tosser.

We know it works well with peat based soils so why even bother with coco? Peat is cheap.

Peat is also very easy. But it is being banned in the UK and some EU countries, so we are going to have to find work arounds. Most commercially available soil mixes are already peat free in the UK, lots of them are mixing in coco.

Organics don't work optimally without stuff breaking them down like microbes and bugs, worms etc.. Not going to workout mixing gaia with coco and just watering. Look into Living Soil if you wanna go the more organic route.

Then they have issues, and no one can help fix it

It dosent work for begginers... period
I’m just starting growing. Organic in Coco with autopots. After 3-4 weeks I had some issues (cause I’m a noob) but it was easily fixed.. I only add RO water. How difficult can it be ?? E969D0B1-557B-485B-91EE-8668E43E6921.jpeg

If you'd actually read the thread you'd know we have spent several posts detailing how much of a tool this guy is.
Oh lol I will admit I just saw the question being asked and shared the vid, didn't know he's not liked on here.

I've never used coco or Gaia green but knew he did so thought sharing was a good option..

I guess not... hahaha may I know the reason why he's frowned upon?
