G8 led users chime in vs cmh

Hey everyone,

I currently run two 315s cmh and they were and are great. I do hate the electric bill lol. I have a been thinking about an led and have a chance to grab a G8-600 LED veg/flower for about less than half of what they run new. Im curious how it will stack up against them..

I also did recently get 2 vipar spectre 300w leds so perhaps wth that g8 and spectres I could actually get better lighting and a bit cheaper electric bill? (I am specualting if it woiuld be better lighting)

I could use people with experience to please chime in. thank you

In my experience (which is relatively limited) most of the G8 and Viparspectra lights are about as efficient as the cmh you are using. So you will not save any money in electric usage, but you may save a little on cooling costs. The G8 600 pulls around 350 watts, the viparspectre only pulls 125ish watts, but you will probably need 2 lights at least to come close to your 315 cmh.

So basically with this style of LED what I have seen is some savings on cooling but no real difference in electric used to flower the same area. They will work, just realistically do not expect to cut your electric bill in half.

I really doubt any G8 or viparspectra panel is close to a CMH system in terms of efficiency and spectrum.

That is why I originally went with the two 315 Cmh's. But these g8s have me wondering. The 600 watt is pulling 390 from the wall and apparently giving thick dense tight buds and pulling yields equivalent to a 1000hps?!?! Time and time again I'm reading so I figured there might be some people around here who are using them
